Intern (June 2010-August 2010) Event Planner-coordinated 3 retreats during a 7-week period. The first was a weeklong retreat with 100 students and all day events. The other two were weekend trips to 2 completely different venues. Arranged meetings and meals for 25 students. Attend one school day at my pen pals school, help with the lesson and get to know my pen pal. GIEU (Global Intercultural Experience for Undergraduates), January 2009-September 2009 Student Scholar Planned a lesson and taught primary school students in Ghana about the importance of hand washing and germ transmission. Taught an entire school of 200 students and washed every students hands. Observed in three hospitals in three cities in Ghana, watched how nurses work and are trained and noted differences between Ghana and the US. Volunteered in an orphanage helping children with schoolwork and donated supplies to help with school cost. Presented research and details about the trip, about Ghanaian culture, health care and education in a symposium to hundreds of students and faculty. Odyssey of the Mind is a creativity and problem-solving competition I participated in as a student and then returned to volunteer as a judge for the competitions.
