Michael Kuczkowski Named General Manager of Edelman San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO April 16, 2012 – Edelman, the world’s largest public relations firm, has named Michael Kuczkowski general manager of its San Francisco office, effective May 1. He will report to Curt Kundred, president of Edelman’s U.S. western region.

In his new role, Kuczkowski will oversee all operations, financial management, staffing, top-level client service and overall business direction and growth for Edelman San Francisco.

“Mike has a proven track record of solving problems at the intersection of strategy, marketing and communications for several of Edelman’s top global clients, and we look forward to bringing his experience to bear here in San Francisco,” said Kundred. His holistic approach to public relations and business management, paired with his deep knowledge of our company’s core values, make him the ideal person to lead and grow our business in this important market.

Kuczkowski is a 10-year Edelman veteran with more than 20 years of experience in management consulting, communications, politics and journalism. Kuczkowski most recently founded and served as president of Edelman Consulting, the firm’s management consulting division. Previously, Kuczkowski was Edelman’s global client relationship manager for Pfizer, and prior to that, led crisis and issues management assignments for a number of clients. He also led an integrated communications program for Columbia University’s 250 th anniversary, which received a Golden World Award from the International Public Relations Association.

Kuczkowski succeeds Jay Porter, who was promoted to general manager of the San Francisco office in 2009. In April of this year, Porter transitioned to a new role as Edelman’s global client relationship manager for Starbucks.
