FISITA 2012 Islands of Excellence: Important Information

The FISITA 2012 World Automotive Congress is proud to host three Islands of Excellence, where selected candidates will be able to showcase their research projects to FISITA 2012 delegates at the China National Convention Center, Beijing. The FISITA Education Committee will review all applications and select the three best candidates to exhibit at FISITA 2012. For each Island of Excellence there can be only one concept selected. Each Island of Excellence research project should be represented by the relevant university/universities members and students and will be strategically located in a specialised topic area of the exhibition on Level 1 of the China National Convention Center.

The following will be provided free of charge to the 3 winners of the competition: Space (max. 60 m2 per island) Basic equipment: - carpet - walls (2,5 m high, for display of posters) - plasma screen (42) - furniture: table, chairs and counter 2 exhibitor badges (The exhibitor badges entitle exhibitors to attend the Opening Ceremony, Welcome Reception,
Farewell Reception and to visit the exhibition area. The badges do not include the participation in the congress.).

1 full congress ticket (giving access to participate in Congress sessions as well as access to the Opening Ceremony,
Welcome Reception, Farewell Reception and to visit the exhibition area)

FISITA 2012 Islands of Excellence: Terms and Conditions

Please note the following information before you submit your application: The exhibition itself is free of charge. The space, basic equipment, two exhibitor badges and one full congress ticket will be provided by FISITA and SAE-China The projects to be displayed must correlate with the FISITA 2012 World Automotive Congress topics described in detail in the FISITA 2012 Call for Papers The ideas, projects and hardware have to be new, innovative and unique

Besides the theoretical aspects of the work, hardware has to be shown. Audio visual presentations will also be welcome The selected university or the cooperation of universities or cooperation of universities with companies has to be represented at FISITA 2012 by an accomplished expert or appropriate member of staff The required space should not exceed 60m2 There will only be one winning project per Island of Excellence. Please note all collateral must be written and delivered in English

The FISITA Education Committee will select the three best ideas and will invite the winning institutions to attend FISITA 2012 to present their research as an Island of Excellence. Entries will be judged on the following criteria and announced in May 2012: Alignment with FISITA 2012 World Automotive Congress topics Creativity Innovative concept Originality Please include illustrations of the project wherever possible
