LE CABINET DE CURIOSITS DE THOMAS ERBER @ BROWNS LONDON BLOG

Celebrating the finest craftsmanship from the realms of fashion, furniture design, photography, literature and art. Following the success of the first edition in the Colette boutique, Paris Thomas Erber unleashes his second Cabinet de Curiosits today at the South Molton Street home of fashion, Browns. Describing Browns as the original concept store, it is logical that Erber would select the bona fide fashion landmark to follow Colette to house Le Cabinet de Curiosits. Mrs B. writes that I just knew that Browns was where his collection should be. The emphasis placed both on craftsmanship, innovation and of course Savoir Faire promises to make a striking collaboration. The Cabinet comprises of a stunning array of unique objects and rarities. Commissioned from a hand-selected group of more than thirty designers and artists, all prominent in their field. With pieces created by Manolo Blahnik, Rodarte, Maison Kitsun, as well as collaborative pieces from Browns and Erber.

As well as contributing the crocodile Albero shoe to Erbers collection Blahnik provides a coveted painting of the beautiful shoe.

Thomas Erber, part of the founding of both LOptimum and Jalouse magazines, is an innovator of our time. In his career as a journalist contributing to Vogue Hommes and Rolling Stone, Erber covered music, travel and fashion as well as consulting on projects for Kitsun, Cartier and Chanel.This is reflected in the diversity and imagination of Erber that resonates throughout the Cabinet de Curiosits. For example, following a successful appearance in Paris last year Kuoni is again exhibiting with two once-in-a-lifetime journeys, firstly The Lovers Road Trip to Uruguay and also The Family Safari, which allows travellers to experience the real Namibia. A stark comparison to the Kata Legradys AK 47 Kalashnikov, multicolour original gun with applicated Smarties covered in Plexiglass.

The installation will remain at South Molton Street until 31st December. The collection is also viewable online
