Robot Design Information

Tell the judges information you want them to know about your robots design. You might tell them something about your game strategy you think is cool, or some interesting attachment you designed, or some other facts about your robot that you think are cool.

Project Information
Tell the judges information you want them to know about your project. Examples include something special you learned, who you shared your research with, what experts you talked to, and what you learned about your community.

Because this is our first year, we built many robots to gain experience in building and strategizing. We took our best three robots and used our ideas to make one robot that incorporated all of our designs and used the best of our attachments. We discovered that less attachments are better. We made one attachment for multiple missions. We figured out if we had a curb around our bot we could quickly attach things. Our programs are simple this year as we made them ourselves and our attachments work mechanically.

Our scientist mentor is Dr. John Willford (UWyo). We learned about how e-coli can get inside steak, through "needle tenderizing" by large meat processors. Our goal is to require meat processors to label needle tenderized steak, as it should not be eaten rare. We encourage the home cook to use our anti-bacterial marinade to sanitize meat & buy from small, local growers who don't needle meat! We made changes to our marinade based on tests performed in Dr. John's Lab.

Core Values Information

Tell the judges what you learned about FLL Core Values this season. Let them know about problems you solved, what you've learned about working together as a team and what Gracious Professionalism means to you.

Fun Facts About Our Team

Tell the judges anything fun about your team that you want. It could be a funny story, your team motto, or anything else youd like them to know.

Competing against each other with mutliple bots helped us design our final robot and showed Coopertition creates innovation and that friendly competition is good. We reward sensitivity, empathy and kindness with "warm fuzzies" and when a team member is unkind or selfish they get a "hard rock". Each of us has a role on our team. We have a Gracious Professionalism expert, attachment experts, research experts, Jig Builder, Robot Builders, Parts Experts etc. We are led by a girl and boy co-captains.

-This is the first year for all of us in FLL! We are mostly in 3rd to 5th grade with one 6th grader. -Our team Motto is- "More Warm Fuzzies- and "Less Hard Rocks". -S.W.A.T stands for Super Way Awesome Team! -We had a team barbeque to test the flavor of our different antibacterial marinades. -We live in the coldest town in the lower 48 states. -We ran laps every day before robot practice to get in shape for WorldFest.
