Abstract: This research is focused on Influences of the Search Engine on Teenagers. Most of us will seek refuge in Google or other Internet search engines. Now, instead of memorizing facts, we memorize where to go for the information we need. Teenagers age group is significantly related with the level of using search engines. High using search engines is observed in people aged between 16-25 years old.

1.1 Introduction Now our world goes without saying that almost everyone enjoys the invention of the Internet, no matter how old you are. We cannot but to admit that the Internet is the greatest invention in the 21th century. In fact, today our global communication is functioning based on the Internet as it transmits all kinds of information. In the other hand, it causes many cons to our young generation.

1.2 Problem statement How Search engines affect teenager? How we check which movie is showing in which cinema? How to compare prices of something you want to buy? Sometimes remembering name of someone and not recalling what he is famous for? Most of us will seek refuge in Google or other Internet search engines. Now, instead of memorizing facts, we memorize where to go for the information we need. Almost everything we could ever want to know about everything can be found online with only a few clicks.

2.0Literature Review 2.1 Influences of the Search Engine on Teenagers. Nowadays, the search engine is very popular with teenagers. Most of them spend a lot of time in searching on the Net. They feel that the search engine has brought a lot of advantages. The search engine influences teenagers not only in positive side but also in negative side. (Dongthanh 2008) 2.2 Google Effect: Changes to our Brains With so much information available, there is less need to remember everything, especially with tools like Google allowing us find what we need quickly. The result -the Internet becomes an "external memory" for humans. The Internet's effects on memory are still unexplored territory, Sparrow said, but added that her experiments have led her to this conclusion: Internet has become our primary external storage system. (EDT, 2011) 2.3 The Google Effect: has your brain been rewired? Google is changing our brains.Columbia University psychologist Betsy Sparrow and her colleagues have found evidence that people are more likely to remember things they do not think they can find using a computer, and less likely to remember things a computer knows.Call it the Google Effect. (Elizabeth Flock, 2011) 2.4 Seeing through the myths and confronting the issues. A lot of teenagers are wrong ways using the search engine, they use to search some web or porn movie. Some case because the teenagers always visit the web or watching the porn movie, finally they rape a girls. Because they wrong ways to use the search engine, so search engine will pass the wrong message to them. (Robert Murray Thomas, 2009) 2.5 Report Imaging power decreasing in this modern, young generation starting to less using their mind to imagine. Imagine is a gift from born but this day many people is starting to search the image they want by using the search engine to get it with fast and clear image. Buts losing an imagination power is that good!? (Call universitypage 6 by Shahriar Al-Sehab, 2010)

the Internet, no matter how old are you. We cannot but to admit that the Internet is the greatest invention in the 21th century. In fact, today our global communication is functioning based on the Internet as it transmits all kinds of information. In the other hand, it causes many cons to our young generation. The purpose of this proposal is to discuss the influences of the Internet on young generation. With the rise of influence of internet on young generation, it is becoming essential to find a viable alternative. The aim of this proposal was to figure out how to solve the problem of the Influences of the Search Engine on Teenagers. (OnPaper, 2011) How we checked which movie is beinged in which cinema? How to compare prices of something you want to buy? Sometimes remembering name of someone and not recalling what he is famous for? Most of us will seek refuge in Google or other Internet search engines. Now, instead of memorizing facts, we memorize where to go for the information we need. Almost everything we could ever want to know about everything can be found online with only a few clicks. It is something we have been worried about for years. But now, Columbia University psychologist Betsy Sparrow and her colleagues have found evidence that people are more likely to remember things they do not think they can find using a computer, and less likely to remember things a computer knows. Albert Eistein(2011) once said: Never memorize something that you can look up. The studys findings show that we have taken that advice to heart. Our generation is far better at remembering where to look for information on the Internet than at remembering the information itself. (Elizabeth Flock, 2011) 1.1 Project Objectives 1.1.1 To determine how search engine affect out teenagers brain Nowadays, a lot of teenagers are using the search engine to get the information and less to use the book or article to get the information, but sometimes the search engine has given the wrong information to the teenagers. Because they too rely on the search engine and at the same time the search engine has give wrong information to the teenagers it will affect to the teenagers. 1.1.2 To gain experience on research and analysing the problem On search engine it can give the information to us in fast and clearly answer, it has brought a lot of Advantages to us, but search engine not only in positive

side but also in negative side. Because the search engine can give the answer in fast and clearly, a lot of teenagers do not like to memorise things. And sometimes the search engine also will pass the wrong message to the teenagers. 1.1.3 Learn something new and hot to work as teamwork For doing this research our group members have separated to 3 parts, 1 of our group members search the information in book and report,2 members will be finding the information in article , and 1 of our group members will be search the information in journey way. In this research we have increase our teamwork, to do a good research our members must have good communication and teamwork. 1.2 The entire part of the research is based on the information that obtained through the first and second resource, our research is to determine the appropriate method that is quantitative research methodology using questionnaire the data collected through quantitative methodology would be analyzed using staticals tool the analysis is produce in a report form. The entire research is following the custom style of research reports in five chapters. Following on the chapter two of this research is literature review, is based on five authenticated resource that include two journals resources and three chapter detailed about quantitative methodology and the analysis part is following the chapter four. The main part of this research is finalized of the chapter with specific conclusion and present recommend for the problem statement assurance in the research.

2.0 Literature Review As we know performing a literature review is a part of research program. Literature review is a critical and in depth evaluation of previous research. It is a summary and synopsis of a particular area of research, allowing everyone reading the paper to establish why you are pursuing this particular research program. (By Martyn Shuttleworth, 2009) In our research title influence of internet on young generation, we have discussing the impact of search engine on the teenager. It is a disorder that how the search engine have bring affect to our future. The modern age teenage always rely on the internet search engine to help/guide them, this have decrease the brain functionality on our human of future. Some example includes the Google search engine is making our stupid? This article writes down a person that the search engine can be remapping his mind and decreasing an imagination of a human (By Nicholas Carr, Atlantic Magazine, 2008). We have found out five resources on the research with two articles, one book, journal and report. Nowadays, the teenagers too rely on the search engine. It is good for them? The search engine really helps to get the correct answer, but sometimes it also will show the wrong information .The written Nicholas Carr (2008) has said sometimes the teenagers are using the search engine to get the information, but when they are key-in the word in search engine has mistaken so the search engine will show the wrong information to them. This literature review will analyze past and current research that has been done which relates to the motivations of influences of the search engine on teenagers. This critical analysis of literature contains facts, statistics, and predictions of different motivations to relate to the findings in the resources. It is important to understand why search engine will influence on teenagers. (Elizabeth Flock, 2011) Both the writers EDT (2011) and Elizabeth Flock (2011) also looked at the influence of the Google search that will affect their memory and brain. There are two separate goals that are described by the study. The internet has become our primary external storage system and people are more likely to remember things they do not think they can find using a computer. These two different perspectives about what one might

8|Page

obtain from search engine determine the perceived value of their search and can explain why frequent. All the resources we have gone through to the research, we have identified out what impacts have brought out of search engine to teenager. According to an article Google effect: Change our brain (By EDT, 2011) this article has mentioned out the search engine has replace our brain, and become an important part of memory storage to our human, it has similar to the article Atlantic magazine Google make us stupid. The content of the magazine has mentioned that search engine can be remapping the neural circuitry and reprogramming our memory; it has affected the human what you should decide. Bruce Friedman, who blogs regularly about the use of computers in medicine, also has described how the search engine has altered his mental habits, He have comment I have almost totally lost the ability to read and absorb a longish article on the web or in print, (Lab soft news, 2012). Based on those sources I have known that, the search engine is not being replacing as storage, but it may affect to our decision making. (Nicholas Carr,2008). The advent of the Internet, with sophisticated algorithmic search engines, has made accessing information as easy as lifting a finger. No longer do we have to make costly efforts to find the things we want. According all the resource, when faced with difficult questions, people are primed to think about computers and that when people expect to have future access to information, they have lower rates of recall of the information itself and enhanced recall instead for where to access it. As the conclusion we have known are search engine can be terribly affect to out brain functionality.

3.0 Methodology A research methodology defines what the activity of research is, how to proceed, how to measure progress, and what constitutes success. Business research methodologies vary depending on the size of the research and the type of information needed. For instance, customer research may involve finding out both a customers feelings about and experiences using a product. The method used to gauge customer satisfaction may be questionnaires, interviews or surveys. (Arun Singh 2011) Qualitative business research means quality. Conversely, and importantly, it does not mean quantity, but quality. Qualitative research methods are designed to talk to a relatively few people in the target audience of interest. The purpose of qualitative research is to plumb the depths and range of buyer attitudes and beliefs, not to measure incidence, project, or forecast quantity (Peter Liebscher, 2000). Qualitative business research methods include Observations- Field notes are taken throughout the observations and are focused on what is seen, Interview- The person-to-person format is most prevalent, but occasionally group interview and focus groups are conducted, Document-are self-reports of knowledge and attitude and Focus Group- technique employs interviews on a specific topic with a small group of people.(Jerry R.Thomas,2011) Quantitative business research methods attempt to gauge quantity. Using a range of sampling strategies, quantitative business research methods seek to project results of a quantitative market survey to the entire marketplace.(Peter Liebscher,2000). Quantitative business research methods include questionnaires Whether A is being questioned via oral or written questionnaire, survey-Random probability samples can be generated from firms and experiment A test under controlled conditions that is made to demonstrate a known result.(Kay Miranda, 2010) In this research, we are planned to use Quantitative Methodology-Questionnaires. In this way we can get the information and do the research in quickly and clearly. It is also has the same question for the entire subject, and can ensure anonymity. Because in other ways methodology will take time to do the research, some of the people do not like to spend too long time do the research and also it cannot ensure anonymity, some people do not like to let others know about they own personal information. List of a research or survey questions asked to respondents, and designed to extract specific information. It serves four basic purposes, that is to collect the appropriate data, make data comparable and amenable to analysis, minimize bias in formulating and asking question, and make questions engaging and varied. Questionnaires are restricted to two basic types of question:
10 | P a g e

Closed-ended is a question for which a researcher provides a suitable list of responses(e.g Yes/No).This produces mainly quantitative data.(A Hannan,2007) Open-ended is a question where the researcher do not provide the respondent with a set answer from which to choose. Rather, the respondent is asked to answer in their own words. This produces mainly qualitative data.(A Hannan,2007) Since it is relatively easy to reach large numbers of people using a questionnaire, sample sizes can be very large. With the potential for large sample sizes, questionnaire makes it easier for the researcher to generalize their finding from the sample to the target population (A Hannan,2007). For this research we have decided to do research on twenty-five people. The reason we chose as the population of this question might not be very clear or accurate by all people. According to this number of our research paper, we can get more accurate result. Our research is targeted to respondents of colleges student whose age range at 18-24 years old because college students rely search engine to get information for their assignment and homework. As the conclusion we have known to choose and decide the right type of methodology will set us to finish a good research. We have chosen questionnaire as our method to do the research and knowing a good questionnaire provide relevant question to our questioner may provide us the data info that we need for research.

Now, instead of memorizing facts, we memorize where to go for the information we need. Almost everything we ever want to know about everything can be found online with only a few clicks. This study has developed a model on factors that impact on teenagers using search engines. Research, data collection and analysis conclude that: Teenagers age group is significantly related with the level of using search engines. High using search engines is observed in people aged between 16-25 years old. Genders are not related with the using search engines. All of the variables can be used to analyze teenagers using search engines. All of the independent variables are reliable measures. Information quality has no significant effect on the using of search engines. In other words, teenagers view the accuracy, relevancy, clarity, understandability of information as well as description and reviews on the websites are unimportant for them. System quality has influenced the using of search engines. Well organized website arrangement and ease of use are highly ranked. This is followed by well organized information arrangement, ease of navigation, web skills, ease to enter the site and fast load time. At the conclusion of this assignment, successful teenagers should: Have a deeper understanding of the use of search engines. Recognize the difference between computer ranking and human evaluation. Cultivate critical thinking and skepticism to information presented as logical. Systematic. Integrate evaluation skills into their day-to-day Internet searches.

Based on the research result, several recommendations can be provided to teenagers using search engines: Search engines have had a significant impact during the last decade. Searching has become a dominant web activity. In this course we planned to investigate both recommendations and search engines using a social network approach. The users and items (movies, music, shopping etc.) are represented as action matrices where each entry represents an action, a ranking by a user , a click on a web page or product, and so on. Once the action matrix is being formed with sufficient density then the question of filling up all entries of the matrix (prediction of the entries) with sufficient high accuracy and recall are the problems to be considered and studied. There are many similarities between search engines, In search engines the social network matrix is being formed by web links, user clicks and or web hierarchies. The major emphasis in this course is to discuss between these major emerging technologies in the social web.
