One must be in a st at e of t ahaar ah bef or e put t ing t hem on.

They must be halaal (Islami caly l aw f ul).
They should cover t he f eet up t o t he ankles.
Wipi ng must not exceed per mit t ed t ime li mi t :
Resident s = One day & night (24 hour s).
