CIA Demographics of Bolivia

Define the Operational Definitions for each Variable__________________________________ There are four levels of Operational Definitions data. The four levels of data include: nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio. Nominal categorizes objects by type or characteristic. Nominal data is the weakest level of measurement but easy to recognize. Nominal classifies objects by type or characteristic. Nominal date has no logical order. Ordinal categorizes objects by type or kind in a logical order. Ordinal data categories are mutually exclusive, has logical order, and are scaled according to amount of a particular characteristic they possess. Interval categorizes by type, logical order, and requires the differences between levels of the category are equal. Interval data categories are mutually exclusive, logical order exist, scaled according to amount of a particular characteristic they possess, differences between levels are equal, and has no zero starting point. Ratio is similar to an interval, but has a true zero starting point. It is important to be able to recognize the levels of data used when conducting a statistical analysis on the life expectancy of thirty random countries, compared to Bolivia.

Identify the Variables to be Tested___________________________________________

CIA The variable to be tested in this demographics research paper is the Life Expectancy of the Bolivian Population as compared to 30 random worldwide countries.
Life Expectanc y 75.26 65.5 63.24 76.58 71.72 76.2 77 65.5 74.9 69.3 69 76.13 73.31 69.95 79.87 77.84 77.96 79.56 71.62 77.7 74.73 76.72 71.77 77.58 78.9 77.61 78.59 71.63 79.52 62.68

Country Argentina Bolivia Brazil Chile Columbia Ecuador French Guiana Guyana Paraguay Peru Suriname Uruguay Venezuela Algeria Australia Austria Belgium Canada China Cyprus Czech Republic Denmark Estonia Finland France Germany Greece Hungary Iceland India

Current life expectancy of the 30 random variable countries is (Avg. 74.40 Years) Current life expectancy of Bolivia is (Avg. 65.50 Year) 74.40 to 65.50 is a difference of 8.90 years. Average is (74.40+65.50) /2 = 69.95

CIA 8.90/69.95 = 12.7% deficit of Bolivian Population life span compared to 30 random countries.

Define the Level of Measurement for each Variable During this portion of the research the level of measurement that will be used the variable will be the Interval Data analysis this system of measurement categorizes by type, logical order, and requires the differences between levels of the category are equal. Interval data categories are mutually exclusive, logical order exist, scaled according to amount of a particular characteristic they possess, differences between levels are equal, and has no zero starting point.

(Avg Life Expectancy Formula)

Define the Measurement Scale for each Variable The measurement scale for each Variable that will be used is the Interval Data Measurement.
