Creating a Basic PowerPoint(2003) Presentation

OVERVIEW The following help sheet is designed to help creating a basic PowerPoint presentation. Mouse commands given are for right-handed mouse configuration please adjust accordingly to lefthanded set up. 10 STEPS GUIDE

Step 1: Left-click the button. Step 2: Start up PowerPoint. To open the program left-click it.

Step 3: Add Title Click in the Click to add title and write the title you prefer.

Step 4: Changing the background. a) Right-click on any blank part of the slide, and click Background.

b) Left-click Choose a colour for your background or one of the Fill Effects. Left-click Apply to All if you want to apply it to all the slides. Right-click Apply if you want to apply it just to the current slide.

Step 5: Changing Font. If you want to change font, select the text that you want to modify and left-click there and choose the style you prefer.

Step 6: Adding a Slide To add a slide to the presentation you left-click insert and then New Slide. OR

Step 7: Slide Transition Left-click on Slide Show, Then left-click on Slide Show

a) Choose how you want the transition form

b) Then choose the speed by left-clicking there and choose between: - Slow Medium -Fast c) You can also add any sound you like.

d) Then you can choose if the slide is going to change on a timer or if you click on the slide during the presentation. e) And then choose to apply it to all the slides by left-clicking. if you dont want it on all the slides dont click the button. Step 8: Add Clipart a) To add a Clip Art left-click Insert, move the mouse on Picture and the left-click Clip Art.

b) This

should appear on the side of the window. You type what kind of clip art youre looking for in And left-click on Go.

And then you choose one of the images that appear And left-click on it, and it will appear on the

slide.

c) And then you decide where to place it on the slide.

Step 9: Animation on the Slide To animate something (like a Clip Art) on the slide, right-click the object, then left-click Custom Animation.

This

should appear on the side of the window. a) Click on Add Effect and choose the effect that you like.

b) Choose how you want it to start, between On click With previous -After previous

Step 10: Adding Videos To add a video you need to change the layout of the slide; and you do that by leftclicking on Format and then by clicking on Slide Layout This should appear on the side of the window. You click on this:

a) you press the video camera icon in the middle of the slide

b) you can choose fro the one in the library and the click Ok or you could click Import and choose your own video and the click Ok
