BS-300 Chemistry Analyzer

Probe Adjustment Instruction

1.1 Change the jumper on main board When we want to change some running parameters, we have to change the jumper position on the main board first, removing the write-protect switch. Please do as follows: 1) 2) Shut down the analyzer and computer as normal. Remove these two screws and disassemble the right cover board.

3)

Then you can see the main board and the jumper:

After change (left side)

Save the parameters as backup Backup the running parameters before changing any parameter: 1) Connect the analyzer and the operation PC with serial communication cable. Switch on the analyzer and PC as normalwithout running the system software. 2) 3) Copy BS-300 debug software to the PC. Double click the icon as shown below to run the BS-300 debug software.

4)

Go to Command and

Main Unit tab.

5)

Press the Download parameters button, wait for about 10 seconds and then press Mechanical Reset button. If the mechanical parts act, it means the connection is ok. Otherwise please try again from step 5.

6)

Go to PARA and Speed tab, and select Sample Unit from the pull-down menu Unit Name.

7)

Press Query button to query the parameters of the Sample Unit, and then press Save button to save them as a .txt file in a folder for backup. (e.g. you can name the file sample unit.txt)

8) 1.3

Close the debug software.

Adjust the position of the sample probe

As an example, we adjust the position of the probe in the wash pool. 1) Go to Command tab, then select Sample Unit.

2) 3)

Press Sample unit reset button (the last command). Press sample probe down to washing pool button. You will see that the sample probe goes down to washing pool. Check the position carefully.

4)

As shown in the figure below, sample probe is not in the center of washing pool, partial to right. The probe moves more steps than expected. All we have to do is to decrease the steps. (Please refer to 1.4 Attention -> 3) Additional information for the correspondence of probe positions. )

5)

Adjust: go to PARA and SPEED tab, select sample unit and press Query button to query all the parameters of sample unit.

6)

Find the parameter named H-position for washing sample probe, as shown in the figure below which value is 102(for example).

7) 8) 9)

Click the value and directly input a number less than 102, for example, 99. Click Config button to make the new parameter come into effect. Then query again to make sure the parameter has been changed.

10) Go to Command tab, select Sample Unit and reset the unit. Then ask the sample probe down to washing pool again to see whether the position is OK. If not, try again from step 5 until the probe is in the center of washing pool.

11) After finishing each position adjustment, reset sample unit. 1.4 Attention 1) There are 3 more positions of the sample probe you need adjust, they are: Related Movement Sample probe to the inner Horizontal position of inner sample disk (0B) of sample tray Sample probe down to Horizontal position of reaction disk (02) reaction tray Sample probe to the outer Horizontal position of outer sample disk (0C) of sample tray Corresponding Parameter

2)

When adjusting the position of Horizontal position of reaction disk (02), you need try many times and make sure the probe fits all of the reaction cuvettes well. In other words, after you have adjusted the position of one cuvette in reaction disc, you need ask the probe to move out of the reaction disc (e.g. sample probe to the top of reaction tray ), and then rotate the reaction disc several steps. (See the figure below)

And then ask the probe down into the reaction disc again to see whether there is a collision. If so, adjust again. If not, try other cuvettes as instructed above (you have to repeat this for 7 times at least,

because there are 8 cuvette segments in the reaction disc). 3) Additional information i. The parameters in both sample and reagent unit mean the distance from the initial

position to correspondent positions. For the steps motors, the parameters mean the number of steps they rotate and one step is approximate 0.68 mm. ii. As it is shown in the picture below, home position locates between reaction disk and

washing well. In light of this, when probe is moving from home position to reaction disk (or when status of position sensor is 1), the parameters are negative (for instance, -130). And vice versa.

iii.

Every time before you rotate the disc, you have to make sure there are no probes in the disc, or the probe will be broken.
