It points out certain do's and don'ts during the revolutionary war time periods. The development of lifestyles in certain ares portraying how dance impacts them. The changing mode of competition dance sprung in the depression era. Showing how every time period had there own type of dance, and others grew out into different dances. The transformation of dance through the years where each type of culture or style period had its on little dance. The author shows how the etiquette of dance has changed but from ball room dance it has built off of what has been staged from the 1800s. It is all about respect and proper. 3. Evaluation: I distinctively agree on the credible source of Julie Malnig edited book. It provided a broad overview of the transformation of dance through American time periods. It brought up points from the past experiences through dance and made it into a more relative excitement where people understand it. Her strong points were hitting the areas of the time period and they mood of people changed the way they wanted to express in dance. The book tends to be very factual on the important ideas of each specific dance and how it was expressed. Source 2 1. MLA Citation: Fallom, Dennis and Kuchenmeister, Sue. The Art of BallroomDance. Minneapolis. Burgess Publishing Company. 1977. Print. 2. Annotation: The book shows what ways to start to improve on how to "walk then run" for dancing. The basic

concept on how to start in dance positions. It continues on how to incorporate music into the dances on which notes to start. It also shows how detail diagrams on what moves are to be made by step by step in popular dances. The beginner and advanced sep routines are guided through for every dance. The mental side is in the beginning and through out the book it providers detail steps in which t(o perform in each dance routine. The importance of certain steps are showed before the start. 3. Key Quotes: "The responsibility of moving from one dance position to another, utilizing several dance steps in an attractive sequence, rests solely with the male partner" (The Art.. 10) "During the early lessons, the alert teacher focuses instruction on building the men's confidence." (The Art.. 10) "Good leading requires firm control and proper position. Basically, the man leads with his bod, moving his upper body before his feet. His right hand plays a significant role in leading the woman, while his left hand is used to guide and balance her" (The Art.. 10)

4. Evaluation: The credibility of this book is very well. The book was basically an instruction manual on how to learn a few dances up to about 10. The strengths of the beginning were the mental side of facing and showing it takes the men a lot longer to get over the fact that dancing is not show feminism. Then it concludes how the men are the most important and they guide and lead the whole act. It also portrays very detail instruction on what steps are made for each dance and how to perform very hard instruction on twists and turns. This book is very high on learning the basics and knowing how to be literate. Source 3 1. MLA Citation: Lawrence, Mary Sue. "Shall We Dance?" Charlotte Place January 2012. Pages 54-58. Print 2. Annotation: The growing events of ball room and social dance. From the teaching, competition, churches, and other public events everyone is dancing over everything. People dancing and being in different clubs and organizations are goring very substantially over the years. The very wide variety of dances can be simplified into 2 forms of smooth and rhythm. That can determine on slow soft moves or fast pace and fast hip action. The main points are the very exhilarating points of the fast growing of dancing around charlotte and the wide variety of dances for all festivities. Also that dances are only conquered by practicing. 3. Key Quotes: "Here in Charlotte, you've got ballroom dancing for purists, you've got West Coast swing clubs, East Coast swing clubs, hustle clubs Latin Clubs, tango societies -there's a great variety" (quoted Tony Prado Pg 54) "Dance is a sport, and it doesn't take long for people to see the athletic and health benefits" (Prince Pg. 56) 4. Evaluation:

This article has been very credible for the exponential growing of dance. It gave very well points on how it helps with moods and giving you health. It provides well descriptions of what each main dances of Latin American are lie. From slow proper to fast and provocative moves, These dances let people express there own feelings and own sort of background. The best part it brings people together and it allows for people to have a good time. Source 4 1. MLA Citation: Winearls, Jane. The Art of the Body. London. St Edmundsbury Press, Suffolk. 1990. Print. 2. Annotation: In the book it describes the beginning of man and the ways the body move. It reveals the moods and times of the dances, then it also gives views of how body language will always give the audiences and partners how you are dedicated to the actions. It gets in detail of the motions and limitation the body is able to do. Also if you can push it you will be able to achieve even more. A main point that is the body will always a chi eve balance so if one part is going one way the other has to accommodate to achieve center of gravity. 3. Key Quotes: "Body Language has been operating since life began and we share with animals an inbuilt faculty for reading signs given by body movement and texture" (Winearls Pg 31).

4. Evaluation: This book is very credible for being well educated with the body and its movements. Not as much as for ballroom dance. The main thing i want to point out is that the body movements that a person can make, and its body language can make everything. In the art of the body you can always reach a goal of a step or a routine and anything beyond all you need is practice and this book illustrates the form of dance art in the mind of other and incorporates it as a huge knowledgeable actions. You need to be educated in the actions you are doing and have practice with them to perform the best.
