Legendary Lebanese singer Magida Al Roumi is the ideal artist to open the 10th Al Ain Classics Festival: She was one of the rst modern singers combining western and Arabic classical music. Her voice is beautiful, charismatic and operatic. For her debut in Al Ain, she will bring her own symphony orchestra to the Al Jahili Fort a memorable evening that nobody will want to miss.

Young British star-conductor Daniel Harding leads the superb Mahler Chamber Orchestra in a programme of three New World favourites: Bernsteins Candide Overture, Gershwins jazzy Rhapsody in Blue, performed by the extraordinary Turkish piano virtuoso Fazil Say, and Dvorks moving symphonic tribute to the music and people of America, written while the great Czech composer was living in New York.

An "angel playing", an "electrifying pianist"- thats how critics call Ukrainian-born pianist Valentina Lisitsa. 2010 marks the 200th birthday of Chopin and Schumann and Valentina admits to have a special afnity to Beethoven. Therefore, some of these masters most emminent masterworks are on the programme of the rst piano recital in the Al Jahili Forts intimate courtyard. Tradition and youth - masterworks performed by todays most distinguished young interpreters: Salzburgs Mozarteum Orchestra will appear both in concert and in opera. Led by young and upcoming conductor David Afkham, the concert programme continues the birthday celebrations with Schumanns piano concerto with young Palestine pianist Saleem Abboud Ashkar. In the second half: Mozarts uncomparable Jupiter Symphony.

Fully staged opera with Arabic subtitles story told in Arabic by Habib Ghuloom Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg Guillaume Tourniaire, conductor Italo Nuntiata, Director

Mozarts opera La Finta Giardiniera (The Pretended Girl Gardener) is produced by ADACH and an international opera production team featuring a renowned Italian singer cast. Mozart composed the delightful opera buffa, an Italian comic opera, for the Carnival season in Munich. Sung in original Italian with Arabic subtitles, an Arabic actor will introduce the story in Arabic - in collaboration with KALIMA, the translation initiative of ADACH. A concept, that is fully accessible for local and expatriates music lovers.
