DAVIDSON GM DEALERSHIP MOVING TO NEW BUILDING Watertown Dwight Davidson of Davidson Auto Group today announced that all sales and service components of Davidson Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC will relocate as of Friday, April 27, to their all-new dealership facility at 18579 US Rte 11, outer Washington Street. Construction of the new state-of-the-art retail facility began last fall with the new building ready for occupancy ahead of schedule. Davidson said, Our new GM facility will include customer-focused innovations such as an indoor service drive where a customer can drive right into the service department out of the weather to drop off a vehicle for service or repairs, and an indoor delivery area to allow customers to pick up new vehicles in comfort, no matter what the weather. Davidson points out that the new facility emphasizes a green approach designed to save energy and natural resources. Solar panels will decrease annual electricity consumption by up to 30 percent. Reverse osmosis filters will eliminate 100 percent of plastic bottled water usage. Lighting will be controlled by motion sensors that activate only when someone is present in a room. Low-E exterior glass will increase energy-efficiency. Planned energy conservation enhancements include a Clean Burn furnace that efficiently burns waste oil and petroleum products to provide heat for the building. This process will reduce fossil fuel usage by recycling waste petroleum products. Another feature in the near future will be indoor/outdoor auto charging stations for hybrids and electric vehicles available free to the public. Davidson said the new facility will provide an enhanced car sales and service customer experience along with a bright, cutting-edge work environment for employees. Up to a dozen new employees will be added over time in the expanded operation.
