uC San Diego has a Lot of dierent places for you to use your Dining Dollars. from quick and easy cafs to convenience stores to a full-service restaurant, youll always find what you need on campus. of course there is the standard pizza / burgers / sandwich fare, but you can also find Sushi, organic and locally grown produce, Mexican, serious comfort food, and decadent desserts. and all Dining Services locations feature fair trade Certified coee, tea, sugar and chocolate because its the right thing to do. you can find hours and daily menus for all Dining locations at hdh.ucsd.edu. Students can even apply for jobs here by clicking the student job button on the main page!

This student favorite offers made-to-order breakfast starting at 7 am. Open-hearth-fired pizzas, organic vegetarian meals, and an outdoor dining terrace with the Best View of the Pacific. Come in anytime for a coffee break or soft-serve ice cream and enjoy the free wireless internet access.

goodys place & MarKet


A definite favorite! Voted Best Outdoor Dining and 2nd place for specialty coffee drinks. Goodys also boasts the Best Mexican cuisine, and also has a pretty rad deli counter with fresh sandwiches and pastries. The market downstairs has a huge freezer stocked with meat, fish, and other necessities for a fancy dinner at home. Open til 1 am!

caf Ventanas
Caf V is nice and airy, with floor-to-ceiling 30 glass walls, natural wood beam ceilings, and a large outdoor dining patio. Perhaps this is why students voted it one of the top places to hang out during dinner. Feelin fancy? Caf Ventanas is famous for their scrumptious surf-n-turf dinners every Wednesday night. Ooh la la.

canyon Vista
Dine under a constellation of pinpoint ceiling stars, get toasty next to a roaring fireplace, or kick back on the outdoor terrace overlooking the canyon (OMG Bunnies!). Canyon Vista is known for its specialty stations, including hot pizza, paninis, calzones, stir-fry, and so much more.

Relax in cozy booths and couches while you dine on any number of delights from a continuously rotating menu. Vegetarian options abound, as well as a large and well-stocked salad bar. International specialties keep the menu interesting and spicy!

Open until 1 am, Earls Place & Market is consistently voted as one of the best late-night ambiance spots, as well as best coffee and espresso drinks! Earls is well known for its organic and sustainable products, too.

Coffeehouse-meets-poetry reading-meets-live music, and voted one of the Best Places for People Watching, Rogers has an awesome coffee bar and lounge areathe perfect place to unwind with friends or just get away to watch a little TV. Open til 1 am.

Located in the heart of Matthews apartments, this little eatery packs a BIG punch. Known for the best made-to-order personal pizzas, salads, and toasted sandwiches. Stop by on a sunny day and soak up some rays on open-air patio.

pines restaurant
Its only been open for one year, but Pines is already well known for having the Best Salad Bar. They have a huge array of fresh organic and local producewhether in your salad, on your sandwich, or cooked into your hot meal. It was also voted the Best Overall Place for Lunch, probably because the dining room is so fun.

New to Sixth College, this market helps residents stay studyready with essential groceries and the small appliances needed to prepare them. Open until 1 am.

Johns place & MarKet


Johns just opened this year so it wasnt in last years survey (obvi!) but were willing to bet that with its huge outdoor patio and vintage modern dcor, its going to be a fave Best of in next years Black Book!
