Jeremiah 33:1-3 33 1 While Jeremiah was still confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the Lord

came to him a second time: 2 "This is what the Lord says, he who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it the Lord is his name: 3 'Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.' NIV Note read background on chapter 32: Zedekiah ordered that Isaiah be imprisoned because of what he said about Israels captivity to Babylon

I. KALIKASAN NG DIYOS NA DUMUDULOG NG PANALANGIN A. Ang Matapat na Diyos the word of the Lord came to him a second time It was the second time. God spoke twice for the encouragement of his people. The first time was when Jeremiah called upon the Lord on chapter 32: 17-25 and God answered encouraging him at verses 26-44. We are not only so disobedient that we have need of precept upon precept to bring us to our duty, but so distrustful that we have need of promise upon promise to bring us to our comfort. Di natin minsan mapanghawakan ang pangako ng Panginoon, tulad ni Jeremias. So, graciously, God repeated His promises to Him. Note: Phylacteries are worn by Jewish people as a constant reminder to obey Gods laws and to remember His promises yet they still forget. He spoke the second time to affirm that he remembers, to comfort us who fears, to affirm that He is the God of the Covenant and for them to have faith. B. Ang Mabuting Diyos While Jeremiah was still confined in the courtyard of the guard... No prison, nothing, can keep the people away from Gods presence. Nothing can hinder God. It is during the storms when we depend more to God for we can ran nowhere but only to Him. It was in prison where Paul wrote his sweetest letters. Philippians was an example. It is where Paul said And because of this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice knowing that everything that happens to him will be a means for him to believe more at the saving grace of God and for the glory and goodness of God be revealed. C. Ang Makapangyarihang Diyos This is what the Lord says It is the Lord who secured Jeremiah and the Israelites- the Lord who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it. Notice, the Lords introduction of Himself is the same as the opening statement of Jeremiahs prayer in 32:17-25 (he referred God as the maker of the heavens and the earth). Nothing is too hard for God. With what Jeremiah said in chapter 32, it is funny that at chapter 33, God has to speak to him because Jeremiah doubted. He has to remind Jeremiah. Suggest reading 32:17-22. The Creator of the universe, the One who hold everything in the universe in place, never fails to miss a single moment in your life. He is control, He is before all things and in Him all things hold together (Colossians 1:17). II. KALIKASAN NG PANALANGIN The comfort be obtained and fetched inby prayer (v3) A. Pag-abot sa Diyos Call to me. Thats how simple Gods principle in prayer is. We do not need to set appointments unlike when we need to meet to our government leaders. The God who created the universe gave us the chance to commune and to converse with Him freely. B. Pagkilala sa Diyos I will answer you. It is an attractive invitation. What a great privilege it is to spend time with the God who promises to be the Jireh (Provider), Ropheka (Healer), Nissi (Banner), Shalom (Peace), Roi (Shepherd) and Shammah (There). He invites us be with Him. It is an attractive invitation worth accepting. It is an invitation we cannot deny. God promises an exclusive opportunity to commune and converse with Him. It is Him alone who would answer our prayers. Try to set an appointment with a big wig and youll end up talking with his or her secretary or spokesperson. Dignitaries are too busy to

give a portion of their time to that little issue of yours. But the our Creator would not do that. He is never too busy for us. Once His people call on His name, He listens and gives us an exclusive chance to meet with the King. C. Pagtugon ng Diyos ...and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. In the original text of the book of Jeremiah, the Hebrew phrase used in great and unsearchable usually refers to the terrifying cities of Canaan and is literally translated as large, with walls up to the sky (GREAT 1419 gadowl: high, mighty; AND UNSEARCHABLE THINGS 1219 batsar: strong wall, inaccessible by height or fortification). It is the same phrase used in Deuteronomy 1:28, Numbers 13:28, Deuteronomy 9:1, Joshua 14:12. Most of these instances depict the difficulty or impossibility of conquering the Canaanite cities. (Source: NIV Study Bible; Strongs Greek/Hebrew Dictionary) Mighty, with strong walls inaccessible by height can mean impossible things. The New Testament is filled with mighty, with strong walls inaccessible by height (impossibilities) things that Jesus conquered and turned possible. Joshua and the other spies story It also echoes Isaiah 48:6 hidden things unknown to you. God gives us the guarantee that when we call, He answers. And when He answers, He can respond with fresh revelation spoken exclusively for you. He can respond with breakthroughs that only a God of new beginnings like Him can ever give. Conclusion: Pray.
