Board Secondary Education Andhra Pradesh Andhra Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (APBSE), established in 1953, functions as an autonomous body under Andhra Pradesh's department of education and is responsible to promote secondary education in the state. The primary function of the board is to conduct examinations for Class X and Class XII standards at its recognised institutions by prescribing syllabi and setting question papers. Declaring of results and giving certificates to the successful candidates is considered as an important duty of the board. The other functions of APBSE is to recognise aspiring schools and colleges and grant affiliations, prepare curriculum for high school and intermediate level, prescribe and publication of text books for courses, achieve academic excellence, issuing of admit cards etc. The board also focuses in framing policies and implementing them to meet the standards of the modern courses and provide quality education to the students. The Andra Pradesh Board of Secondary Education carries out its functions from its head office located at Hyderabad and various regional offices. The board also tries to induct new courses and frame fresh curriculum from time to time to standardize the education system of the state. Andhra Pradesh Board of Intermediate Education is a Board of education in Andhra Pradesh, India. It was established in 1971. It is presently located at Nampally, Hyderabad. The board regulates and supervises the system of Intermediate education in Andhra Pradesh State. It executes and governs various activities that include devising of courses of study, prescribing syllabus, conducting examinations, granting affiliations to colleges and, providing direction, support and leadership for all educational institutions under its jurisdiction. Honorable Minister of the State for Secondary Education acts as Chairman and Secretary to Government, Secondary Education as Vice-chairman of the board. The Secretary of I.A.S. Rank acts as the Chief Executive of the Board. Directorate of government examinations is an independent department working under ministry of secondary education, Government of Andhra Pradesh which also conducts SSC/OSCC public examination twice in a year which is the measure examination conducted by the board in which a number of students ( approx 13.34 lakhs for annual examinations and 3.34 lakhs for advanced supplementary examinations according to the number of applying students in 2011) and also provide the examination schedule for the classes of 10th and 12th standard for the affiliated schools and colleges . Andhra Pradesh board is amongst the dominating educations systems in India and with the challenges lied ahead of making sure education reaches to all the sections with adequate set of standards maintained, there is still a long way to go for Andhra Pradesh education board.
