UNIT PLANNER
Summary of Lesson Plan
This lesson is designed to help build on students prior knowledge of the constitution and break it down for better understanding. To help better understand it the teacher will read We the Kids foreword by David Catrow. This lesson is designed extend the background knowledge of the U.S constitution and how difficult (even today) writing the constitution can be. It is also designed to have the students figure out what is important to them.

MONDAY week #1

Make sure to build background knowledge with as much material from previous weeks to have students build mastery of skills and create connections to outside experiences.

TUESDAY week #1

paper and pencil Students will be separated into 3 groups(executive, legislative, judicial) they will explain and WEDNESDAY create an example of what their week #1 branch does and with that info they will create their own readers theater to present Students will work in the small groups from day 3 reviewing what they did and then going back to their assigned small THURSDAY groups to add new information to week #1 their quick-writes from Monday, by using an add N pass technique.
