TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR CIVIL WORKS

1.0 Technical specifications for civil works. 1.1 The work in general shall be carried out as per latest CPWD specifications New Delhi for Civil works (updated with correction slips issued upto last date of submission of tender), unless otherwise specified in the nomenclature of the individual item or in the particular specifications of concreted items of works. For items not covered under latest CPWD specification, for (Civil Works) and in particular specification or nomenclature of the individual item as above, the work shall be done as per latest relevant IS codes of practice. In case, specifications are not covered under para 1.1 & 1.2 above, the work shall be carried out as per the provisions of technical specifications enclosed elsewhere. In case of non availability of any specification in the above paras or any overlapping provisions, non-clarity on any issue, applicability of particular provision out of above, shall be decided by Engineer-in-charge whose decision shall be final & binding on the contractor.

2.0 Cement : Types of cement specified as under shall be used. Portland Cement Pozzolona conforming to IS: 1489-1991 (PPC). 3.0 Steel for reinforcement The steel used for reinforcement shall be any of the following types : 3.1 High strength deformed steel bars conforming to IS : 1786-1985. FE 415 Grade / 500 Grade 3.2 Thermo Mechanically Treated Bars. One of the following grades/trade names shall be used. 3.2.1 SAIL TMT 415 / 500 3.2.2 TISCON TMT 42 / 50 3.2.3 REBARS 415 / 500 4.0 Structural Steel: 4.1 Structural Steel conforming to IS : 226-1975. 5.0 Approved Makes: The list of approved makes of materials enclosed elsewhere is forming part of Technical Specifications.
