The MCA is Australias Museum of Contemporary Art,

Visual Arts in New South Wales, representing the interests of Visual Art and Design educators from K-12 and in other

There will be opportunities to partake in workshops run by many of these artists, to explore the specialist learning facilities within the NCCL, and to engage with exciting new ideas in contemporary arts education. Additionally there will be presentations and discussions with Virgina Mitchell and Glenn Barkley, and an update on the Visual Arts in the Australian curriculum - an important issue for all art educators. Please note, as you can see from the program, numbers are strictly limited and participants will be registered on a first come first served basis. There will be no opportunity to change your workshop preferences after your registration forms are submitted. A receipt of payment, along with advice on Saturday workshops will be posted back to you. If we are unable to place you in your first or second preference for Saturday workshops, we will simply place you in the next available space. How does this differ from creativity? What role does creativity and learning play in a museum of contemporary art? Heather Robertson, MCA Head of Creative Learning, kicks off the program by challenging you to get out of the comfort of your conference seat and join in creating a creative environment. Through this presentation, Heather explores the question of creativity in the context of the MCA and proposes a range of ways of inspiring creativity through the new range of education experiences on offer through the National Centre for Creative Learning.
