How to Format and Write a Winning Resume

Name Address: Contact Telephone; Mobile Email: Career Objectives: Spell out your career goals here. State your goal (internship, scholarship, school admission, job, etc.) Include company name and/or job title you are seeking if applicable. Education: Record here your educational background, following the latest qualification order. Degree Title NUST School Name, City, State GPA: 3.50/4.0 Year of Graduation

Only include the GPA section if GPA 3.0/4.0. Consider it bonus points it wont hurt to exclude it, but it may help if its high!

Research: List down any research projects done, as well as any publications or research papers written. Professional Experience: Give a summary of any work experience that you gained including the internships done till date. Job Title | Dates Employed Company/Location, City, State

Describe your basic duties very briefly Describe TRANSFERABLE SKILLS, or things you have learned that can be useful to the job you are applying for now. Some examples being communication skills, public speaking skills, writing skills, conflict resolution, customer retention, sales skills, organization, time management, etc. Comment on any LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES taken within the job. This could range from assisting your manager on a special project, training new employees, helping to teach an information session, supervisory experience, and delegating duties to other employees; or recognitions i.e. Cashier of the Week, Employee of the Month, Highest Cash Collections, etc. Academic Projects: a. Professional and Skills Development Experiences: State the professional and skills development experiences or any other personal strength that you possess / have attended or practiced. This must basically include your personal capabilities / interests and not your technical skills. You can mention your workshops/ seminars/ conferences / courses in this section Honours / Awards achieved: List down award/ honors / distinctions achieved. This will include the extra-curricular achievements.
