Dear Malcolm, I was born and raised in Shelby, NC its about an hour from Charlotte and I have been

living there basically all my life. I graduated from Crest Senior High and I have one brother (Josh) and two sisters (Emily and Erin) and Im the son of Jason and Kim Ross so Im Jason II. Both of my parents are still married and live together in Shelby and they have been married for about 18 years. My brother is still currently in high school and he is a junior he plays football and one of my sisters attends UNC-Greensboro and shes a senior and my other sister goes to a community college here in Charlotte. Football and track are my two favorite sports although I like basketball and Ive played it all through grade school up till 10th grade where I had to stop playing due to the fact that I was focusing on football and track. Ive played football all my life and I started running track my 7 th grade year. Thats the sport Ive stuck with in college as you can see Im on the track team here at UNCC and I will also be on the football team when it comes next year. We went to the state championship in football my senior year but we suffered a devastating loss 21 to 20 and believe it or not I will never forget about that game. Still to this day just thinking about losing the state championship game hurts me in so many different ways. I wasnt always as serious about school especially in middle school I guess because I was so immature. I didnt really start getting serious about school until 10th grade when I knew I had potential to go to college. In high school I was a scholar athlete and I graduate with a GPA of 3.3 so I thought I did pretty well in school. My high school was known being good in almost every sport such as track, softball, baseball, football and basketball but most of all known for academics. My favorite food to eat is Japanese thats been my favorite since I was ten years old. In my spare time I like to play video games with my brother and cousins or shoot basketball. I also enjoy getting up with all my friends usually we go and hang at one anothers house it just depends. I love pit bulls they my favorite type of dogs I have one and my mom is terrified of it but I dont know why. My first semester of college was amazing I have already fallen in love with the college life its way better than high school by far. Christmas break went good simply because I got to fellowship with all my family but Im glad to be back. I am currently double majoring in Criminal Justice and Sociology but Im not quite sure what pathway I will take just yet. My uncle is currently a lawyer and he has motivated me to go into law school and eventually becoming a lawyer just like him and as of right now Im taking that into consideration. I am also chasing my track dream to becoming a professional track athlete and I have plenty of options as well as a backup plan.
