The Next Regeneration

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a new and promising approach in tissue regeneration. PRP is defined as an autologous concentration of platelets and their associated growth factors in a small volume of plasma. PRP is prepared by taking a small sample of the patients own blood, then separating the leukocytes and platelets from the red blood cells via centrifugation. The PRP is then extracted and can be injected back into the patients treated site, for accelerated healing.

What is the Function of Platelets?

Platelets play an important role in the bodys natural healing response. Platelets carry -granules which contain the clotting and growth factors that are released during the healing process. Upon activation, platelets aggregate and eventually release the growth factors, which stimulate the wound healing cascade. The following growth factors are reported to be present in PRP: Platelet - derived growth factor (PDGF) Transforming growth factor 1 (TGF-1) Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) Fibroblast growth factor (FGF) Epidermal growth factor (EGF) Insulin-like growth factor1- (IGF1-)

TropoCells - Simplifying the PRP Preparation Process

Estar-Medicals proprietary preparation kits, simplify the process of preparation and enable it to be easily done in the doctors clinic.
The unique design of TropoCells enables: High yield of platelets with available growth factors Time-saving - only ONE CENTRIFUGATION is required Efficient collection of the platelet concentrate utilizing the TropoCells proprietary Filtering Sleeve Optional filtration of WBC types out of the platelet concentrate using the TropoCells Filtering Sleeve Maximum modularity & flexibility - easy adjustment to many different varieties of applications and users

Proven results
The Tropocells system was tested to evaluate platelet yields, growth factors availability and platelet in vitro-characteristics (platelet aggregation, p-selectin and hypotonic stress) immediately after preparation and four hours after preparation.

The Preparation Process

Collect blood using Estars vacuum tubes containing separation gel & anticoagulant Centrifuge for 10 min at 1500 g Gel separates Platelet-Poor Plasma (PPP) and RBC. Platelets concentrate on top of the separation gel Remove a portion of PPP from the top of tube (optional) Resuspend platelets into remaining PPP using the syringe and shaker (30 sec) Insert the filtering sleeve into Draw PRP for tube, attaching the end of the filter use to the gel. PRP penetrates through the filter into sleeve
