Q6. What general comments or suggestions do you have about the ICT equipment in your school?

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

Time involved troubleshooting is a problem and setting up equipment It is very good within the limitations of our school budget. Seems well resourced We need more of it. Well enough resourced. Have netbooks permanently available in the classroom this year and it is a regular part of my group work. Using ipods for digital photo work etc. Accessible Make laptops/netbooks more accessible to students (i.e. enough for a whole class to work on at the same time). More resources to use on the interactive whiteboard (i.e. interactive lessons/programmes) Time consuming to keep it running. We need more laptops or notebooks so we could teach groups then have them have work on activities. It would be beneficial if there were a small class collection of ICT equipment such as laptops, Ipods, Ipads, etc so small groups could use them within the classroom. Would be good to have everything set up and working all the time Pretty good, 5 net books per senior class. My class and one other are currently fundraising to get minimum of 25 net books or tablets. The school has a good range of equipment but it needs to be worked out a better system so that a whole class can access it. Junior School lacks alot of equipment that the senior school has. Find laptops difficult to manage with new entrants Having senior buddies to help really works iPAds are much easier for juniors to use than laptops senior buddies to help is a good idea A few ipads would be good. Either a couple of laptops or (younger) desktops would allow for continued use. Generally good condition - some upkeep needed with the older stuff Great when it is working the PCs/desktops are well past their use by date! the server needs replacing, there has been an increase in mobile devices, a stable wireless and IWBs None I would like to have a number in my classroom so I can use on a daily basis lot of equipment introduced over the past couple of years, just not enough for every child to use often enough and do as much as we would like

Q6. What general comments or suggestions do you have about the ICT equipment in your school?

Good range of different equipment, encouraged to use it. I am currently teaching in the Library of our school. We are in the process of setting the room up as a classroom and as a result I do not have any of the ICT resources that other classroom have avaible to them. limited resources Being new to the school I am impressed with the use I see others using and with the students knowledge of the equipment, it would be brilliant to have more laptops available for class usage, and I have seen the possibilities for iPads in junior classes at other schools. Personally I need more upskilling and confidence in using IT in the classroom. We have good levels of equipment (or potential to achieve good levels via annual ICT budget). The challenge is to ensure that equipment is used to its maximum benefit We are very well resourced. We have pods of laptops which works for our school at the present time, however some teacher are getting to the stage where laptops in the class would be advantagous. The issues is using finances to get the most bang for our buck. i feel that the school is reasonablt resourced, particularly with IWBs in all rooms and training undertaken. We have not moved towards hand-held devices yet. school laptops well used It is growing and giving us great opportunities to integrate it authentically into every aspect of the learning I am certainly improving my skills by simply having the opportunity to play around with the equipment. This exploration is an important phase of learning to teach with the equipment. Equipment is maintained and keep up dated. Distribution is equitable. Could always use more access! none We have just upgraded all of our computers so they all have the same software. I have just changed levels, so would use different things with the level I have now. Generally well equipped We have a great set of Mac books. It would be great if we had software specifically to support maths and literacy programs, which would offer individual learning time for the students. We are well equipped and are lucky to have 2 approachable leaders and a Principal who is very knowledgable. some excellent technology and applications, very motivationg for teachers and students, just difficult to rely on the technology working

Q6. What general comments or suggestions do you have about the ICT equipment in your school?

Older desktops that need a fair bit of TLC. We have a contract with Norrcom to provide support this year. We would like more wireless devices eg iPadsbut who doesn't?! Our 14 wireless laptops go well and have been pretty bombproof considering they are secondhand. We are about to get better wireless across the school. We have digital cameras, video cameras (handheld) and a digital microscope as well as IWB's in every room with 3 sets of voting devices. Norcom are coming into our school on a fortnightly basis to support us with an ICT issues we have. It can be frustrating when you have spent time planning with an ict/computer component in reading and maths programme including the laptop pod and the technology doesn't work and you have 27 children all requiring help :( Otherwise the computer component fits in with learning well. ICT equipment is very good - however, it constantly requires updating and maintaining. Over all, we are really lucky. Desk top computers are old and often unusable due to ongoing problems I think we are pretty lucky in the terms of the equipment we have, but sometimes our desktop computers are very slow, which the juniors get frustrated with and the projecter is hard to see if it is light in the classroom. Unfortunately quite a number of our computers in the class do not work, therefore the children are unable to use them. desktops need to be working, a camera in each class would be useful and get used more often as with conflicting needs from others Is of a high standard. More availability in the senior school There is only one lap top and 6 desk tops to use in a shared teaching space. Not enough to develop programmes around them. Data projector now used a lot. Frustrations over lack of equipment, time taken out of teaching to fix something on the computer when one of the young children do something wrong, batteries for cameras, etc. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a spare set of hands to look after things like that. We do not all have access to the same amount of or type of devices. Unless I use something regularly I forget how to use some of the devices. We all have cameras but and I get confused with setting them on photo or video settings.they are not the same The ipad is my own as is the cellphone :) More laptops in the classroom so children can work independently on them Ipod touches in the juniors A camera that hooks into the tv and you can put books (etc) underneath it. (Can't remember their name) It's too expensive and I don't really need it Generally well maintained and fixed quickly if there are problems, but would always be great to have more. uptodate

Q6. What general comments or suggestions do you have about the ICT equipment in your school?

57 58 59

We are well resourced. Pretty good but in need of care and attention to be made to work efficiently and all of the time. Some systems need tidying up. It is great when it works. Would prefer to have better computer tables for kids to work at. Good to have an IT expert on staff who actually explains and demonstrates \. We seem to have quite a bit of trouble with the classroom computers which can be frustrating. we, do however, have a good range of devices which we can use. It is difficult to maintain and run my own classroom. We have lots of I.C.T equipment which is cool:) Our t.vs are fantastic when they work. the connector cords are too unreliable. ok - wish we had more. It has been very frustrating and time wasting, because of connection problems and breakdowns. Age and reliability of equipment can hinder attempts to include ICT successfully. Looking forward to new wireless and ultrafast broadband hopefully connections will be more reliable. Very poorly resourced It's poor, but we're getting there. What we have is not sufficient or up-to-date enough compared to what our students have at home so there is a gap. ICT equipment appears to be easily accessible in Boulcott and seems to run reasonably well. Can be frustrating, but getting there! We need more variety, ie, ipads, notebooks etc so chn are exposed to different types. Apple technology in particular as it is so widely used in the "outside world" but not at all in LBS. When things inevitably go wrong there needs to be someone available to help solve the problem. It would be great to have more laptops per class. 4 is time limiting. It is great having permanent laptops in our classroom. Would be great to have more and Ipads etc I think there are still a lot of hardware problems. For exmaple, we have 1 ibook that the keyboard doesn't work, and 1 macbook that has to always have the charger in. We have trouble printing several times a week due to the server. It would be great to have 6 working laptops in the class - enough for one guided group.

1 2 3 4 5 6

Ipads, laptops, interactive whiteboard I would like to have an I phone or I pod touch with sim card and a laptop that is more user friendly than the current one. happy with what we have. maybe some more headphones. Camera at least 5 Ipads listening post 26 net books. The 8 I have now seems to work well and there is an option to have complete class sets if arranged with other teachers and that has not been a problem either. laptop, camera Set of laptops/net-books Laptops or notebooks. Laptops (3) Ipod Touch (10) Desktop Computers (6) Smartboard One netbook per child in class or one between two. Net books/tablets: minimum of 26 Ipad x 2 so that the children can have access and use them. I think having NE that this type of equipment would be easy for them to use. iPads are quite user friendly with young children an Ipad have a data projector and smartboard camera, flip, microphone and itouch in class would like ipad 5-6 Laptops or smilar same with ipads As many as possible Laptops (5), cameras 2, ipad - 4 n/a As of the beginning of this year I have 8 netbooks and 2 i-pods permanently in my classroom for daily use. This is pretty much in line with what I would like to have (as there is other equipment available in the school to supplement this when needed). I have one computer but would love 5 laptops, a class bloggie, class camera, netbooks for every student without having to share Small pod (4-6) of laptops or ipads I have voiced an interest in a LCD screen or an interactive white board so I can use online resources in the classroom.

one Whoops! Have already half answered this in previous box. More laptops, so the class might have them available more often. Again, no point in having plenty of equipment if it is not utilised effectively Itouch x 1 A number of devices for students to use on an ad-hoc basis. possibly laptops or hand-held devices 10 ipads, 15 laptops ipods, laptops Laptops or ipads- 10? would like wireless and either laptops or ipads Cameras This is a wish list: 6 computers, 1 interactive whiteboard, 4 video camera, 4 cameras and others if I was given training in how to use them. IPads or equivalent Having up to four classroom desktops would be very useful for on going use by the students throughout the day. With desktop computers in the classroom, regular use of digital devices would be easily planned into the days program. Laptops or computers--6 more ipod touches activeboard, laptops (one each), 10 iPads would be good! Alongside some laptops. laptops or ipads would be wonderful to have in the class especially as we try and implement eportfolios. It would really help in uploading information without any hassle. How long is a piece of string? Ipad2's for every student.........

Net books or net pods or more desk top computers to use, (Net books at least 12.) Not much space to put more desk tops I-phone - 4, laptop 12, i-pads 12 I'd love teachers to have 8 laptops per class and the same number of mobile devices. I'm not keen on every child having one as I am not convinced this would lead to good pedagogy. Laptops - for a class of 25chn 8-10 maybe more computers, but as above at new entrant level unnecessary Enough laptops for a group to work on (6) iTouchs (2?) iPad (1) laptops / ipod touches 3 more laptops and 2 more ipod touch (dreams are free!) Small pod of netbooks or Ipads, Flip or similar video recorder, Good quality microphones. A functioning laptop one between two students would be good. I would be extremely happy for all my students to be able to access a computer on an individual and daily basis. I often use cameras and would use them on a regular basis. We do have a number of cameras we can use as a whole class if we want them 8 Laptops, 8ipod touches. I have five laptops already but more would obviously make life easier. Having more ipods and ipads would be helpful because they can be used to send documents and photos to blogs. laptops 8 for my class. iPads or other touch pad devices, one between two Mobile touch screen devices preferably 1:2 at least 1:4 mobile devices -1 between 2 Camera - lots ipad - lots laptops - per child tablets15 per class , cameras 5 per class Laptops-6, smartboard, more ipod touches More laptops. I Pads ( ideally one for each student) It would be great to have a laptop between two children or even each!. And a ipod touch for using with maybe a group of four kids. 12 laptops or similar, 5 cameras with video

Q15. Rate your understanding of the student Inquiry Learning process

Just started a Inquiry Learning Process with the class based around our topic. This way of teaching is new to me and the class. I am teaching a NE/Y1 class so the awareness of the actual process is not clear yet. As I teach juniors the inquiry model is not used in such depth We are looking at reviewing our current inquiry model to embed SOLO. Our schools inquiry model is currently under construction. I don't want the school to have one model but for children to have a range of tools.

Q16. Digital citizenship In my class there is an emphasis on all of us being

1 2 3 4 5

I have just moved to NE and find that at the moment with the children as they are there is no time to fit this into my day. I don't think this question is aplicable for a NE/Y1 class that does not have any computers set up in the classroom. I haven't been in this class environment for long and have not yet really stepped into this area of learning and have not got the confidence yet myself Last taught a class 3 years ago mind! Can't answer this properly so have chosen middle of the road (also Number 11)
