Story of the Prophet Yunus

In a place called Syam, a child named Yunus was born. He grew up to be a virtuous man. In the age of 30, he was chosen to be a prophet. He then preached in Ninawa city. The peope of Ninawa were pagan (people who worship idols). Oh my people, Whorship Allah! and leave the idols. Allah is the only God to be worshiped Yunus called. His invitation was not being heard. Yunus continued to invite people of Ninawa to believe in Allah. But as usual he just got scorn and jibe from them. Oh God, I have tried to invite them to Islam, but they didnt listen and refused to believe in You! I could not continue this appeal anymore Yunus said. He then left Ninawa. After Yunus left Ninawa, Allah sent punishment to them. The sky was suddenly full of dark clouds that made Ninawa as dark as night. Ooh, is this Gods punishment that Yunus said? said one of Ninawa people with fear. Finally they believed that Yunus is the prophet and the apostle of Allah. They then repented and declared that they believed in Allah. Allah answer their pray. The punishment was gone and Ninawa city was back to normal. Look, the punishment is gone, lets looking for Yunus. We should apologize to him and follow his teaching said one of Ninawa leaders. They then looked for Yunus, but they could not find him. They feel regret. In the other place, Yunus saw many people got on boat. He then thought to join them. Hmmm I will join them Yunus whispered. Friends, do you mind if I boat together with you? Yunus asked. Of course no, Please get on said one of the passengers. Yunus then got on the boat and warmly welcomed by other passengers. Then the boat sailed in the sea, but the weather suddenly changed. The sky turned dark and full of dark clouds. Then a hurricane blow. After that a storm was coming. Their boat started to shake because of too many passengers. Then they made a quick discussion and came to a decision that one of the passengers had to jump to the sea in order to save the boat and other passenger. They decided to make a lottery to decide who was going to jump. After raffled, the name of Yunus was drawn out. With believe that it was Allahs will, Yunus then jumped to the sea. JEBUUUUR!! Yunus was drawn and rolled by a very big wave. Then a whale suddenly swallowed him. Now Yunus was inside the whales belly. It was very dark there, so Yunus could not see anything. Not long after that, Yunus realize that he was inside a whale. Yunus directly call the name of Allah. Yunus stayed for days inside the whales belly. Hi neither ate nor drank.

After a few days, the whale swam to the beach. The whale choked and Yunus was thrown. He was stranded in the beach, but he was safe. He was very thank full to Allah, Thank You oh My God. You still love Your worshiper, so You saved me, said Yunus. Yunus left the matter to Allah while asking for His help. Allah answered his prayer. Not so far from his place of stranded grew a pumpkin tree. The leaves of the tree covered Yunus body. Yunus then ate its big fruit. It was so delicious. Thank You, oh Allah! Your grace is unlimited! said Yunus. Because of Allahs help, Yunus then be able to stand and walk again. After that Yunus got a command from Allah to come back to Ninawa. Should I go back to Ninawa? Yunus wondered. However, when he remembered Allahs help for him, he finally was ready to come back to Ninawa. Thank to Allah, the people of Ninawa have changed, murmured Yunus. Yunus was very happy that the people of Ninawa had changed. The idols were not found there anymore. Now, they believed in Allah.
