Administrative: Policy Behavioral - Island - The district has purchased many SmartBoards, but most seem to be used as a projection screen or pushed into a corner and never used. There is no requirement for educators to use the technology in the classroom. Resource/Infrastructure - Intelligent - headquarters is always looking for technology to purchase so that it can be implemented. Planning Behavioral: Emergent - Technology committee is in place, but has not meet in 2 years. Resource/Infrastructure: Island - A plan is in place to by the district and DC for technology, but the implementation is left to the school.

Budget Behavioral - Integrated - Money is available and is spent on new technology and for the maintenance of the equipment. Resource/Infrastructure - Island - Our budget comes from the money allocated to the Air Force from the DOD; the Air Force then decides DODDS portion from there. Administrative Information: Behavioral - Island - information is available to all faculty to access, such as attendance, grades, and parent contact information, but there are 3 different

systems in place, not all from the same vendor for seamless communication between them. Resource/Infrastructure - Island - Systems are in place, but there is the lack of follow through. Curricular Electronic Information Behavioral - Island - All teachers have a basic image installed on their computers. Resource/Infrastructure - Island - Most of the teachers use SharePoint sites which they provide additional and current information to parents and students. Assessment: Behavioral - Island - Most assessments are given by pen and pencil, but some teachers use services such as QUIA out of their own pockets. Resource/Infrastructure: Islands - Standardized assessments such as the TerraNove and the PSAT are taken every year, but there is no easy way for educators to access the information as of yet. Curricular Integration Behavioral - Emergent - Many teachers have resources through curricular purchases, but most do not implement or use them. Resource/Infrastructure - Island - most classrooms have 3-5 computers. Teacher Use Behavioral - Island - Technology is available, but most teachers don't use it or are afraid to use it. Resource/Infrastructure - Integrated - All educators have their own computer and must use it for attendance and grades. Student Use Behavioral - Island - Not used purposefully by students. Resource/Infrastructure - Integrated - Additional technology is available for students. Support Stakeholder Invilvment Behavioral - Island - We don't have a lot of involvement from outside the school as far as from parents, but do get support from the base installation. Resource/Infrastructure - Island - More involvement from all stakeholders is needed. Administrative Support

Behavioral - Island - Admin is there for the staff and students, but lacks the follow through to be effective. Resource/Infrastructure - Island Training Behavioral - Emergent - Some teachers take advantage of training opportunities, when offered. Resource/Infrastructure - Emergent - Training in technology is very scarce, almost non-existent. Technical/Infrastructure Support Behavioral - Island Resource/Infrastructure - Island - We have an ET, AT and a IT who do a great job, but are limited by upper level management. Connectivity Local Area Networking Behavioral - Island - Not used to potential. Resource/Infrastructure - Intelligent - Whole school is wired in every room, every teacher has a computer and most classrooms have 4-5 computers. Wifi will be available next year.

District Area Networking Behavioral - Integrated - All information can be accessed from anywhere within the district, from any computer. Resource/Infrastructure - Integrated - District and school has access to all local data. Internet Access Behavioral - Island - all have internet access, but currently lack wifi capabilities. Resource/Infrastructure - Intelligent - Currently installing wifi so all student devices will connect to network. Communication Systems Behavioral - Integrated - Electronic communication is the norm. Resource/Infrastructure - Integrated Innovation New technologies Behavioral - Island - new technologies are introduced or given, but lack the training to make it effective. Resource/Infrastructure - Integrated - Decisions are made 9,000 miles away by bureaucrats with not much input from local areas. Comprehensive Technologies

Behavioral - Island - Resources are available such as Elmos and SmartBoards, but not used to potential. Resource/Infrastructure - Island - No real plan to pull the technologies together. Conclusion Jetti High School in my opinion based on this Evaluation would have to be ranked as island on the Maturity Model benchmark. Technology is available to use, but there there is little training for the educators in their use. The school climate is open to the introduction of newer technologies, but lacks the follow through by the local administration and district. Some of us teachers have tried to take the initiative to bring into our classrooms technology for students to use, but have run into barriers along the way. I have tried to initiate in my classroom some of the technologies discussed in this course, but most have been blocked by administration in Washington DC.
