INTRODUCTION:
Telephones are a point-to-point communication system whose most basic function is to allow two people separated by large distances to talk to each other. It is one of the most common appliances in the developed world, and has long been considered indispensable to businesses, households and governments. The word "telephone" has been adapted to many languages and is widely recognized around the world.

All telephones have a microphone to speak into, an earphone which reproduces the voice of the other person, a ringer which makes a sound to alert the owner when a call is coming in, and a keypad (or in older phones a telephone dial or no manual device) to enter the telephone number of the telephone being called. The microphone and earphone are usually built into a handset which is held up to the face to talk. The keypad may be part of the handset or of a base unit to which the handset would be connected.

A landline telephone is connected by a pair of wires to the telephone network, while a mobile phone or cell phone is portable and communicates with the telephone network by radio. A cordless telephone has a portable handset which communicates by radio with a base station connected by wire to the telephone network, and can only be used within a limited range of the base station.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEMS:

The design aims to provide a subscriber loop design that will be employed in a place considering the length of wire, gauge of the wire, and other considerations that will cover the design in Dipolog City.

Specifically, the study seeks to:

Describe the basic operation of the subscribers loop system Identify the factors affecting the signal strength of the subscribers loop Identify the factors which limit the loop length in designing such system

OBJECTIVES:
General Objective

The main objective is to design a subscriber loop system that will connect subscribers in Dipolog City. Specific Objective To construct a subscriber loop system that is cheap and reliable. To support a maximum number of subscribers in the said city. To provide more established communication through subscriber loop design in Dipolog City.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROJECT:

Subscriber loop system design deals with Communication Industry and shows significance in the following. A. Subscriber The subscribers are the most beneficiaries, because they are the one who will be served.

B. Future Researcher This study is relevant especially for the future researcher as reference and for further systematic investigation into and study of materials and resources in order to establish facts and reach new conclusions.

SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS:

Scope

The study is focused to make a subscriber loop system design in Dipolog City. The design will show the length of wire that will be used, the gauge of the wire that will be used, the distance of every cabinet from the Central office and other parameters.

Limitations

The limitation of the design will be the coverage of the distribution of cabinets. The design did not cover all the areas whereas this area only have a few or no subscribers that needs the subscriber loop design.
