ITS Systems Administrator

Qualification: Master in Computer Applications Location: Bangalore Required Basic Qualifications: - Masters in Computer Applications Additional Preferred Qualifications: - Hands on training / exposure to production IT infrastructure / technologies of reasonable size / complexity in an industry setting. Primary and Secondary Responsibilities: - Implementing complete lifecycle for IT infrastructure projects which may involve integration of compute, storage and network components which may be running wide variety of Operating Systems, Distributed File Systems and other Systems/Applications software. - Developing cross platform scripts / tools (using standard programming / scripting languages) which can help in automation of complex infrastructure setup / configuration / monitoring / housekeeping tasks and also facilitate easy standardization. - Ongoing monitoring of deployed infrastructures health / capacity / performance etc. and tuning it to deliver optimal performance. - Analyzing the customer reported issues /new requests and providing high quality and timely support on servicing of those requests. Complex Tasks: - Adhering to IT standards, guidelines and procedures while performing IT infrastructure deployment and related IT support activities. - Analyzing incoming business requirements and mapping them to appropriately designed IT infrastructure solutions / baselines which can be reused for global deployment. - Executing joint infrastructure evaluation projects in consultation with internal TI user community. - Understanding vendor technology roadmaps and assessing their impact on TIs roadmap for IT infrastructure. Unique selling features of this position, team, or project: - Effective functioning of globally deployed infrastructure which is supported by ITS significantly enhances the operational efficiency for TI business units and thereby offers a competitive advantage to TI. Special work environment: - Due to global nature of ITS operation within TI, team members may have a need to establish

communication with global teams across different time zones on an as needed basis. Potential or preferred avenues to source candidates for this position: - Institutes which offer a 3 years MCA program and include a six months mandatory internship project as part of their 6th semester curriculum.
