2012 RESEARCH PAPER/PROJECT SUBJECT: THE SUPER BOWL AD CONTROVERSIES SB history is littered with controversies whether in SB ads or on the field. The 2012 SB Research paper is about SB ad controversies. For example in SB 2000 Nuveen (a financial biz) presented an ad that showed a paralyzed Superman (Christopher Reeves) get out of his wheelchair and walk. (Mr. Reeves has been thrown from a horse and suffered irreparable spinal cord injury.) There were protests from various disabled groups. Nuveen quickly stemmed the tide of those protests by assessing everyone that Mr. Reeves not only sanctioned the special effects, but was in hopes that those who saw this ad would be moved to contribute and/or support those who contribute to charities who support finding a cure for spinal cord injuries. The 2012 paper is a secondary or qualitative research project.
