2.2. Addition of function / Change of specifications 1) TX/RX concurrent use of FAX dual-line It is now possible to perform broadcasting to multiple addresses using two lines. (Concurrent broadcasting) 2) FAX retransmission function If the transmission is not yet effected even after the redialing frequency ser as the [Number of Redials] in the Telephone Line Settings is finished, the job is saved in the Fax Retransmit User Box. Jobs in the Fax Retransmit User Box can be redialed manually. To perform it, access Administrator Setting -> Fax Setting -> Function Setting -> Incomplete TX Hold. Jobs waiting for retransmission are saved in Box -> System User Box -> Fax Retransmit User Box. 3) Relay user box By creating a relay user box, jobs the box received are transmitted to Relay Destination. To create a new box, access Administrator Setting -> One-Touch Registration -> User Box -> Relay User Box. 4) Manual forwarding Jobs received by the memory substitute reception can be forwarded to another destination. It can be set from Job list -> RX/User Box -> select a job -> Forward. 5) Manual redial A document waiting for redialing can be redialed manually. When pkg is double-clicked on Intel Mac, the driver for Intel Mac is installed. 2.3. Correction of malfunctions 1) On Sender/FAX ID registration header setting, with single byte Ascii character, up to 30 characters can be input and registered. With single byte katakana character, only up to 15 characters are registered (saved), though up to 30 characters can be input. [52148] 3) When [NO] is set for machine stop operation at the IU life end arrival in the Service Mode, the life count stops at the life limit and does not increment more in the Service Mode. [52187] 4) If a proof copy is performed with page insertion and a single set of copies, the memory level does not recover after the job is finished. [Print Separate Fax Page is turned ON or OFF] and [Paper tray and print paper size are set to AUTO] C: Inch paper Priority over A4 is set. 26) Addition of specifications for upper limit control when an integrated management device is connected (request from BJ) With Phase 2.01. the upper limit can be controlled with the following a, b or c when an integrated management device is connected. a. Upper limit of total of Copy + PC print (one limit) If the limit is reached, both copy and PC print are disabled. b. Upper limits of Copy and PC print (two limits) If the limits are reached, Copy and PC print is disabled respectively. c. Copy color, Copy B&W, PC print color, PC print B&W (four limits) With Phase 2.5, the upper limit control is possible with a combination of a, b and c. In other words, even if the upper limit is not yet reached with a, copy operation is disabled when the limit of b is reached. Even if the upper limit is not yet reached with b, both copy and PC print operations are disabled when the limit of a is reached. 27) When restoring NVRAM backup data, the data is now processed at one time. 28) After updating to Phase 2.01, if a FAX A4LEF document was sent, it was received as A3 on the remote station, and if an A4SEF document was sent, it was received as B4. Remaining malfunctions The following problems will be corrected sequentially by the future versions. 1) [PC-FAX RX Setting] and [Forward TX Setting] cannot be used in parallel. [44873/Ph3.0] 2) With the retransmission enabled, if the machine power SW is turned OFF/ON immediately after redialing over occurs (redial is performed exceeding the set number of times), no document remains in the retransmit user box. [54944/Ph3.0] 3) With PSNC, changes of SMB [WINS Primary Server] and [WINDS Secondary Server] values are not applied at a time. [54996/Ph3.0] 4) After setting Independent Zoom, auto paper setting is possible in combination on the operation panel, but these functions do not work at the same time. [55144/Ph3.0] 5) With the job history display on the Page Scope Net Care, history of errors of jobs transmitted by automatic forwarding of FAX RX jobs is not correct. [55275/Ph3.0] 6) With the password rules applied, a password for a Relay User Box can be changed from the Administrator Setting even if the same password as that used before is input. [55345/Ph3.0] 7) When using Windows 98 PS PPD, a combination of cover sheet setting and wide paper tray setting is available. Properly, the combination should be prohibited. [55347\Ph3.0] 8) When a FAX transmission job is finished, if the job is deleted from the Job List screen at the same time, the result of the job is shown as Deleted by User even though the job is finished normally. [55752/Ph3.0] 9) When sending a job with paper type for insertion paper set to [Normal + Pre-printed] on the printer driver Per Page Setting, a message requesting for loading Normal paper is displayed. [55754/Ph3.0] 10) When copying with Nin1, manually selected paper and zoom (other than Auto) and punch/2-position staple (position: Auto), incorrect punch/2-position staple direction is selected and an alert for unavailable direction is displayed. 11) When sending an E-mail from the FAX TX tab on the Box screen, if the file format is changed, pages of the file are sent one by one, not collectively. [56234/Ph3.0] 12) When STOP is pressed during printing a job from a box, if the job is ended without displaying the Stopped Jobs screen as the remaining number of print pages is small, the following problem occurs: When pressing Job List and then Detail on the Job List screen, the Detail screen is displayed just for a moment. [56318/Ph3.0] 13) While user is adding paper in Tray 3/4 or LCC, the machine shifts into energy saving mode (Low power/Sleep). [56462/Ph3.0] 14) If the machine sub power switch is turned OFF/ON during printing a FAX reception job, the print may not restart. [56607/Ph3.0] 15) The function of above 2.2 -14): job deletion by pressing the STOP key does not function with Enlarge Display. [56831/Ph3.0]

3.2. Functional restrictions 1) When connecting C250 with Windows 98/Me PC using a parallel cable, Plug and Play (PnP) is not executed. * Select ECP on BIOS setting, Parallel port setting on PC side. 2) When connecting C250 with Windows XP PC using a USB cable, Plug and Play (PnP) is not executed and C250 operation panel is turned off. * If this symptom occurs, turn off/on the C250 main power switch. 3) During scan data transmission on Scan to SMB, the Scan to SMB Browsing function does not work. * Wait for completion of scan data transmission and then use the Browsing function of Scan to SMB. 4) On Twain scan, after reading image by pre-scanning, if the scan area is specified and real-scanning is performed, there may be a few mm difference between the specified area and the obtained image area. 5) If the sub power switch is turned off during TWAIN scan, the PC locks up displaying scan data receiving message. 6) With FS-603 fitted, the finisher adjustment/half-fold position adjustment values set in the administrator mode or service mode may not be reflected. * When half-fold position adjustment value is changed, check the operation by printing multiple pages. 7) On CS-Remote Care, even if the setup call completed successfully, error occurs at maintenance start call. * Ensure that the copier ID code has correctly been registered on the host side. 8) Even if a value between 0.1 and 0.9mm is set for scan setting, application setting and frame erase setting, erase amount remains 1.0mm. 9) If printer driver is installed by Point&Print from Windows NT4.0 PC, printing is not possible. * Use LPR print service. 10) When using Windows 98, paper size display on paper tab of PS driver/Properties is partly lost. 11) When printing from MS-Excel, dotted line of a cell may be printed in solid line. * Use PCL driver. 12) When printing from MS-Excel, when different paper size is set for each sheet, only one set may be printed though multiple number of copies is specified. 13) With Mac OS X, paper type OHP and paper feed tray2-4 can be selected together on printer driver. 14) On PC print, if arbitrary paper size is selected for output size on printer driver, filled objects may not be

printed correctly. * Select Same as Original Size on output size setting. 15) When printing from MS-Word, semi-transparent objects may not be printed correctly. * Use PCL driver. 16) In the service mode, maintenance counter screen, Count Start Date may be 1990/00/00. * Clear the maintenance counter once. 17) Timer transmission job cannot be seen with Page Scope Job Spooler. 18) On PC print, wide paper cannot be punched. 19) If it is attempted to obtain a job in a box using Page Scope Web Connection, Internal Server Error may occur. * Restart Page Scope Web Connection and obtain a job in a box. 20) When printing multiple sets of a MS-Word document with cover page attached, only one cover sheet may be output. * On MS-Word, Print window, Uncheck Collate. 21) When printing multiple sets of a MS-Word document with page combination, the final page of first set and the first page of second set may be printed on the same page. * On MS-Word, Print window, Uncheck Collate. 22) In Application, Copy/Repeat, Catalog Copy, even if Normal Print is selected, center erase may not function. * Match orientation between original and copy paper. (For example, original A4 SEF -> copy paper A3) 23) Manual reception is not possible if original of other job such as copy, scan job is being scanned. 24) When the scanning data is sent by Scan to SMB, "Server connect error" might be occured. *When Scan to SMB, please input taking care capital/Lower-case letters. -Windows98/Me It is necessary to input "Host name" and "Folder name" by the capital letters. You can input "User name" and "Password" by either the capital or Lower-case letters. -WindowsNT/2000/XP It is necessary to input "Host name" by the capital letters. You can input "Folder name" and "User name" by either the capital or Lower-case letters. It is necessary to input "Password" by the character registered in a client PC. 25) When sending an A6 job with proof print using PS PPD driver on Windows 98, the first set is output normally. If the remaining sets of the job are printed, loading of A6 paper is required, though it is set in the copier main body tray. [27809] 26) When an original is put on the platen glass, the platen cover is closed and then immediately (right after the START key LED turns from red to green) the START key is pressed, the machine may lock up with Scanning message. Programs to be applied at the same time Please apply programs released this time together. 5. Caution

1) When the power supply is turned on first after the up-grade is done to the firmware of this version with a CF card, the message of "Please wait. Processing Data now. Please do not turn off the main SW" purport is displayed between a few seconds. (2) Please set ON in the SSL on the TCP Socket/Admin mode at the panel. 5) It is necessary to clear boxes before connecting Page ACSES. If Page ACSES is connected with jobs remaining in boxes, proof print of the jobs is available. [56506] 6. How to install/check the version and uninstall 6.1.
