This Basic Scaffolding course is designed to give participants the knowledge and skills to safely and efficiently perform basic scaffolding based on the Occupational Health Services of Australia standards for scaffolding. CISRS Basic Scaffolding Part 1

The Cape Training and Assessment Centre in the Philippines is the only centre outside the UK accredited by the Construction Industry Scaffolders Record Scheme (CISRS) to offer Basic Scaffolding. Capes Basic Scaffolding Part 1 course aims to provide an introduction to scaffolding, covering the safe erection and alteration of a range of scaffolding structures. We strive to improve safety standards by ensuring that operatives engaged in the erection, alteration and dismantling of scaffolds are properly trained and given sufficient experience to carry out such work safely and properly.
Who is the course for? Suitable for all scaffolding operatives who are at anytime required to erect, substantially alter or dismantle scaffolding and have had at least six months previous on-site experience.

CISRS Basic Scaffolding Part 2

The Basic Scaffolding Part 2 is a course designed to provide candidates both theoretical and practical knowledge in addition to those offered in Basic Scaffolding Part 1. Its aim is to train suitable candidates in the safe erection, alteration and dismantling of the following types of scaffold: basic independent tied scaffold with prefabricated beams, protective fans, pavement gantry, loading bay, roof saddle scaffold, splay scaffold and truss out scaffold.

CISRS Scaffolder Skills Test

The CISRS Scaffolders Skills Test is designed to assess if the candidates can demonstrate the skills learned during the CISRS Basic Scaffolding Part 1 and 2 courses: safely erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding in line with the objectives approved by CISRS. By the end of the course successful delegates will have demonstrated their competency in the safe erection, alteration and dismantling of basic scaffold structures covered in the CISRS Scaffolding Part 1 and 2.
Who is the course for? Scaffolders who have completed the Scaffolding Part 1 and Part 2 course and have a minimum of six months site experience (between Part 2 and this assessment). The trainees competence will be assessed in the following areas: Interpreting instructions and information Producing material lists and method statements Selecting and checking components The practical erection and dismantling of a cantilever scaffold Majority of the assessment is based on practical exercises with a small proportion of assessing theory. 2 days

Scaffold Inspection
Scaffold Inspection is designed for all Supervisors and Managers required to inspect, record, and approve scaffold structures. By attending the course, candidates will gain knowledge of the requirements for inspection of scaffold tubes and fittings on work platforms. This Scaffold Inspection training course is intended for persons responsible for inspecting and checking scaffolds for safe use and in accordance with statutory regulations. IRATA Rope Access Level 1

Cape conducts Rope Access training under the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA), which is the only internationally recognised certification scheme for industrial rope access. The aim of this Level 1 course is to introduce candidates to the basics of the rope access industry to allow them to work under close supervision of a Level 3 supervisor.

IRATA Rope Access Level 2 and 3

Cape also provides both Level 2 and Level 3 IRATA Rope Access training. The main aim of the level 2 course is to ensure candidates are still competent at the achieved first level. After the required amount of work experience, they may undergo advanced level 3 training. This course will build on the candidates experiences and prepares them to take on the roles of Team Leaders, Safety Supervisors, Rescue-men and Riggers.

Candidates who already have IRATA level 1 qualification and required work experience (1000 logbook hours over a minimum of 12 months) who want to progress to the intermediate and advanced IRATA Rope Access levels. The Rescue and Retrieval training course is specifically designed to provide scaffolders and other safety harness users with knowledge and skills in rescuing colleagues suspended at height with a safety harness/ lanyard. Capes Rigging and Slinging training course covers the duties and responsibilities of a rigger based on statutory standards. Forklift Truck
The Forklift Truck course offers training according to the Road Transport Industry Training Board (RTITB) standards. RTITB is recognised by the United Kingdom Health and Safety Commission as well as the Philippine Health and Safety Commission under Health and Safety at Work Act of 1974 (Sec. 2 and 16). Safety Representative Training is designed to create awareness and understanding of the functions and duties of the health and safety representative. The Elevated Work Platform (EWP) training provides the participant with the necessary knowledge and skills to correctly and safely operate elevated work platforms specific to clients operations.
