FATIMA APPARITION
Today we remember the apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima in Portugal on May 13, 1917. She appeared to the three children named Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta with very important and urgent messages for humankind, namely: that we should pray fervently to avert Gods anger and punishment; that we should pray the rosary everyday for world peace; that we must offer sacrifices for the conversion of sinners; that humankind should stop offending God through sin and that Russia should be consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Ninety-five years after the apparition, it looks like we still have much more to do in order to fulfill the message of the Virgin Mary who intercedes for our salvation. Let us continue to pray and offer sacrifices that we may heed the call of our heavenly Mother. MOTHERS MONTH The month of May is truly a Mothers month. Aside from honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary, our heavenly Mother, this month is also a special time to honor our earthly mothers, whose womb carried us for nine months, whose breast nursed us, whose tender loving care nurtured us, whose loving gaze kept us safe and secure, whose heart never stops loving us unconditionally. Our mothers deserve our love and gratitude not only for one day but for all the days of our lives. Let us always make them feel they are great and special. Mothers make the presence of God visible through their unconditional love. May the Lord bless all mothers abundantly.
Our Mothers Day Novena will begin this Sunday, May 13th. Special cards and envelopes are available if youd like to enroll your mother, living or deceased, in this nineday novena.
