Read the following passage very carefully.

A chameleon is a type of lizard and it is well known for its ability to blend in with its
surroundings. The colour of its skin fit in with browns, yellows, and greens of trees, branches
and bushes. The curves of its body and the different patches of colours make it difficult for an
intruder to see it. There is a popular belief that chameleons can change their skin colour to
match their surroundings. In fact, changes in the skin colour depend mostly on how the animal
feels. Night or day, hot or cold, danger or peace all affects the colour of the chameleon. A
chameleon that is provoked or attacked often develops strong colours and patterns. Some
chameleons can even puff up their bodies to look bigger and stronger. A chameleon that is ill,
relaxed or sleeping will usually be quite pale. Females about to lay eggs may be beautifully
coloured. Chameleons eat insects, including flies, moths, mosquitoes, grasshoppers, caterpillars
and, as a last resort spiders. They in turn are eaten by birds of prey, snakes and some small
mammals mainly from the cat family. Chameleons spend most of their time in trees and bushes.
They rarely move on the ground unless they are changing their homes from one bush to another.
They change homes to find food and more room. They are often seen crossing paths or roads,
unaware of the dangers involved.
