The success of the Asset Management Business, like any financial service business, anywhere in the world, depends completely on the quality and efficiency of the human capital employed. The world of financial services is rapidly changing, with far more rapid changes being observed in developing nations like India. The changes not only pertain to the way services are being sold to the investors, but also to the introduction of new and complex products, widening of the underlying products managed under the portfolio, changes in the valuation and other regulatory guidelines. These changing business dynamics, along with competition driven needs, demands greater financial knowledge from the employees and make it necessary for businesses to take steps towards adopting employee learning initiative as the most important support functions. One such step is developing, adopting and adhering to a structured learning curriculum for the employees involved in the sales and operational domain of the organization. Financial Trainings
An important business challenge for the Indian Financial Service Sector is to increase the proportion of retail assets under management by growing the base of retail customers by broad basing their geographical distribution. This requires building innovative and sustainable sales and distribution channels based on sound incentive structures. This in turn requires a sustained focus on continually building front-end capacity, knowledge and skills at various levels, for different needs, and at multiple locations. Challenges

Training inputs may involve a variety of key audiences including i. intermediaries (banks, other third-party distributors, individual agents),and ii. customers (retail, HNI, institutional)
The training may be required periodically in step with market developments and emerging business strategies and whenever there is a specific need like while launching new products. Since distributors and customers are based across various locations, training should be locally delivered for convenience as well as to lower direct expenses and opportunity costs. In this context, training should also be delivered simultaneously across multiple locations to reduce time to market the new products.

A Bank, an AMC or an Insurance Company or a financial education provider will need to devote substantial ongoing attention and resources on review and actions related to training and HR needs and will face a number of concerns and challenges.
