1,104 km2 (426 square miles) In Hong Kong, though it is hot and rainy from spring through summer, it is very warm and sunny in fall cool and very humid in winter. Hong Kong's terrain is hilly and mountainous with steep slopes. There are lowlands in the northern part of Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, there are air and water pollutions from rapid urbanization.

In winter most areas become cold and dry, in summer hot and rainy. There are mostly mountains in China. There are also high plateaus, desserts in the west, plains, deltas and hills in the east. In China, there is air pollution from reliance on coal produces acid rain, water shortages, particularly in the north. These gases come from the Carbon Dioxide and Sulfur in the air. There is also water pollution from untreated wastes and deforestation.

In Taiwan, there are rugged mountains that covered the east and there is a lot of flat land on the western side of Taiwan. There is air pollution, water pollution from industrial emissions and raw sewage from Taiwan. There is also contamination of drinking water supplies, trade in endangered species and low-level radioactive waste disposal
