Develop the ability to integrate the various functional disciplines in analyzing corporate policy and strategic issues.(Membangun kebolehan menyatukan beberapa disiplin fungsi dalam menganalisa polisi dan strategi koporat) 2. Develop the ability to critically examine business issues of corporations. (Membangun kebolehan untuk menilai secara kritik isu-isu perniagaan koporat) 3. Stimulate students to take an integrated perspective in examining corporate level issues. (Meransang pelajar untuk melihat isu-isu koporat secara menyeluroh) 4. Realize the skill to formulate short and long term strategy, and the systems and processes for implementing the strategy well. 10. Course Synopsis

This is an integrative course that seeks to bring together the various disciplines that the students have studied and integrate it at the policy and strategic level. It will attempt to address this integration at the corporate level. The teaching of this course will take student centered approach. The case method will be used in most classes. (Kursus ini adalah kursus penyatuan beberapa disiplin yang telah dipelajari oleh pelajar dan diintegrasikan pada peringkat polisi dan strategi. Integrasi dibuat pada peringkat koporat. Pembelajaran kursus ini dibuat secara student centered approach. Kaedah kes akan digunakan dalam kelas)

ASSIGNMENT ON STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT TOPICS


Students will be divided into groups Each group will be given a case where its strategic management plan and performance will be analyzed according to a topic of strategic management. Summarize the topics in the chapter Analyze the external and the internal environment of the company in the case Analyze the performance of the company based on the following key results area: financial, customer, internal business processes and learning & growth Analyze the strategies of the company based on topics in the chapter. How did these strategies impact the performance? Suggest new strategies related to the topics in the chapter to improve performance The report should not have more than 5 pages It has to be presented in 20 minutes and about 10 minutes discussion time. There shall be no more than 20 slides during the presentation. One slide must be the executive summary of the report The assignment will be assessed based on the written report, presentation and response during discussion. The report and presentation should focus on the topic of the chapter, back-up by the case.

ASSIGNMENT: STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT PLAN (SMP) ANALYSIS Student will be divided into groups Each group will choose a company where its SMP will be analyzed according to all the topics discussed in the lectures. The Group will evaluate effectiveness of the companys SMP in achieving the business objectives of the company The Group will have to propose future SMP of the company based on existing information. The report should not have more than 10 pages It has to be presented in 20 minutes and about 10 minutes discussion time. There shall be no more than 20 slides during the presentation. One slide must be the executive summary of the report The assignment will be assessed based on the written report, presentation and response during discussion.
