What makes the world to move on? What is the progress engine? Asking myself these questions Ive realized that the innovative and revolutionary ideas, are the main factors of this perpetual changing world. At their origin stays a person or more who has the ability to think widely, to action and to serve social and not personal needs. These values, listed before, represent the guideline which I am trying to follow every day of my life, therefore I believe that they are building the character of a real LEADER. Such an example of a great LEADER whom I admire, was the historical personality, Franklin Delano Roosvelt (1882-1945). One of the reasons of his reputation was the impact brought worldwide during his presidential governance. F.D. Roosvelt was the only American president elected for more than two terms. His ability to face the arisen challenges as a political figure with a strong character helped him strengthen the trust of his nation and the people who voted for him. By his integrity, intelligence, flexibility and the fact that he was always devoted to the national causes, F.D.Roosvelt added new responsabilities to the presidents function. The first one is to take care about the citizens as better as possible and the second one is to participate actively not only in creating and drafting state policy but also in implementing it in the best possible way. As the initiator of the New Deal program, F.D.Roosvelt succeeded in considerably decreasing the consequences of the Great Depression in the USA by partially restoring the economical, social and political systems. Even if that set of solutions contained some drastic methods like closing all the banks or minimizing all the wages, F.D.Roosvelt demonstrated the capacity to sacrifice the short-term economic growth in order to receive a big win for a long-term period. He introduced some innovative reforms like involving all of underprivileged people in work activities or creating separated departments specialized in the development of different macroeconomic dimensions. These showed his practical and focused thinking, characteristics I am striving to develop as more as possible in my professional life. In spite of his increased exigency, radicalism and seriousness he was very popular within American nation because of his absolute confidence in himself and his people. His ability to solve conflicts diplomatically, made me wish to ask him what tips and tricks he used in order to achieve such an effective communication with others. F.D.Roosvelt had a glorious life thanks to the decisions he took and if I meet him I would also ask what rules he followed to choose the right decisions. The answers on these questions will help me to understand better how he succeeded to come through a good leader while remaining a modest, honest and warm-hearted man. His experience will be an excellent landmark for empowering a LEADER inside me and I will be always deeply convinced that F.D.Roosvelt represents an enormous source of inspiration for true leadership. This personality made me understand that the world can be changed and everything I need for this is to believe in my forces and to care about the worlds future.
