Dec v3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE ENROLMENT FOR PROSPECTIVE BACHELOR STUDENTS AEROSPACE ENGINEERING In the past months

we have received many questions on the enrolment for the bachelor courses in Aerospace Engineering. As the procedures are indeed complicated - and sometimes do not match very well - we decided to send you this email, to hopefully clarify the process. In the next paragraphs we will inform you about the numerus clausus procedure itself, with the documents Statement of Admission and Reply cards. Numerus clausus The steps in the numerus clausus (fixed quota) procedure till now in a nutshell*: - You applied at TU Delft - We sent you our digital letter of conditional admission - The faculty of Aerospace Engineering made the decentralized selection (from all students who completed their application before 15 January) - TU Delft sent the results of this decentralized selection by e-mail to all applicants Your current status in the procedure is that you have: - Been conditionally admitted to TU Delft - Been selected in the decentralized selection Next steps Before you can start your study at TU Delft you have to meet all the following mandatory conditions: 1. You must have been conditionally admitted to TU Delft 2. You must have been selected in either the decentralized selection by the faculty (that already took place) or in the centralized selection by DUO (= "Dienst Uitvoering Onderwijs", a unit of the Dutch Ministry of Higher Education) by mid July. 3. You must have completed you registration in Studielink before 15 May 2012. 4. You have to send a certified copy of your diploma to DUO before 23 June 2012. If you receive your diploma and transcript too late to be able to do this, you need to send a so-called Reply Card late submission instead, also before 23 June. Then DUO will allow you to send your diploma before 1 August 2012. 5. You must have received a so-called Statement of Admission (or Bewijs van Toelating in Dutch) from DUO, as final proof that you have fulfilled all requirements from both TU Delft and DUO. 6. With this Statement of Admission you must enrol via Studielink at the TU Delft within four weeks of the date, given on the Statement. All steps will be described in more detail on the next page. *) DUO has made a formal description of the complete procedure about the lottery for students with a foreign diploma in a pdf-document. This is available via the DUO website, but we have attached this file as well. - On page 2 there is a paragraph about Dispensation (Beschikking). This Beschikking is the condtional letter of admission we have sent you. - The Colloquium Doctum and the Dutch language paragraphs arenot applicable for you.

1. Conditional admission by TU Delft All students receiving this email have already been conditionally admitted. 2. Status in the selection You have already been selected in the decentralized selection in March. 3. Registration in Studielink Studielink is the portal of the national database of DUO. Everyone studying in the Netherlands is required to enroll through Studielink. As the data from our Online application cannot be exported into Studielink, you need to register a second time. Studielink was originally designed for Dutch students and has NOT been fully adapted to international students yet. So you may encounter some problems as you proceed with this enrolment. In that case please visit the Studielink Knowledge Database for help. Messages from Studielink, that you have to send in documents or that you have to pay your fees, can be ignored if you are certain that you already have done so. (These messages are meant for students with Dutch diplomas who - unlike international students - use Studielink as the first step in their application process). 4. Send in your diploma; the Reply card late submission All prospective students have to send a certified copy of their diploma to DUO before 23 June 2012. Students who receive their diploma and corresponding transcript too late to be able to send them to DUO in time, have to send a Reply Card late submission instead, also before 23 June 2012. Then DUO will allow you to send your diploma till 1 August 2012. We have attached an example of this card. If you dont send your diploma or the Reply Card in time, DUO will extract you from the procedure and you will not be able to enroll at TU Delft. Note: The Reply Card late submission will be sent to your correspondence home address (as registered in Studielink) by regular mail (post) in June. So in case you will be on holiday, please find someone to look after your post box. 5. Bewijs van Toelating (Statement of Admission) If you have - been conditionally admitted to the programme and - been selected either in the decentralized or central selection and - sent your diploma in time DUO will send to your correspondence home address (as registered in Studielink) by regular mail (post) theBewijs van Toelating (Statement of Admission) from the second half of July onwards. When you do not wish to make use of the Statement of Admission, please return it to DUO as soon as possible (write Withdrawal on it) and inform TU Delft as well. Please send an email to bsc2@tudelft.nl stating your complete name and registration/student number and your reason for withdrawal. 6. Further enrolment in Studielink With this Statement you must complete your enrolment at TU Delft via Studielink within four weeks of the date given on the Statement. If you do not do this within four weeks, the Statement of Admission is no longer valid, and you will not be able to enrol at TU Delft.
