GASKET PROFILES
The gasket consists of a sealing filler and V-shaped metal strip wound in combination. This profile is usually applied to male/female and tongue/groove flanges.
FORIN SPW TYPE 1 2 The standard spiral wound gasket format identical to TYPE 2, but fitted with an outer centering ring (applied to raised face flanges).
FORIN SPW TYPE 2 3 Spiral wound gasket for male/female flanges consisting of a wound component fitted with an inner ring to bring the gasket flush with the pipe bore to prevent to media turbulence and also to protect the spiral from corrosive attack.
FORIN SPW TYPE 1 2 3 Identical to TYPE 12, but also fitted with an inner ring. The inner ring serves 2 purposes: 1. Prevents corrosive attack of the vulnerable spot welds. 2. Brings the gasket flush with the pipe - bore thus preventing turbulence.
