Dr. Chow S. Lam received his Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Psychology from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1985. Upon graduation, he joined IITs Department of Psychology as an assistant professor. He became full Professor in 1994 and Distinguished Professor in 2002. Dr. Lam directed the Rehabilitation Psychology Program from 1987-2010. Under his leadership, the Rehabilitation Psychology Program gained national and international recognition and was ranked in the top 5 in the nation by the U.S. News and World Report (2007). A prolific writer, Dr. Lam has published more than 110 journal articles and book chapters. He was the recipient of the 2005 James Garret Distinguished Research Career Award, a four-time winner of the America Rehabilitation Counseling Association Research Award (ARCA), and twice winner of Rehabilitation Educator of the Year of the National Council on Rehabilitation Education (NCRE). Additionally, he was a Fellow of the American Psychological Association (APA), Distinguished Research Fellow of the National Institute on Disabilities and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR), and the first Chinese-American elected as President of ARCA in 2000-2001.

Dearborn Street, Chicago God of Carnage is the story of two sets of parents who meet to discuss a playground altercation between their children. However, all attempts at rational negotiation quickly dissolve into chaos in this social comedy. The New Yorker calls this laugh-out-loud hilarity ninety minutes of sustained mayhem.
