Title: The Jobs! Jobs! Jobs! Act

An act related to the Legislative Staff. Be it enacted by the Student Senate of Santa Fe College: Section 1. S.B.S. 201 shall be amended as follows:

Chapter 201 Powers and Responsibilities of the Legislative Staff and Senators
201.05 201.051 Senate Projectionist The Senate Projectionist shall;
1. Uphold the Student Body Constitution; 2. Prepare and maintain any electronics used during Senate; and, 3. Publish the motion being voted on whenever possible.

Academic Senators Academic Senators shall; 1. Uphold the Student Body Constitution; 2. Contact constituents at least twice a month; 3. Provide a monthly report to the Student Senate Oversight Committee; 4. Serve on a Student Government and/or College Committee; 5. Unless otherwise stated in procedures, maintain at least a 2.0 GPA; 6. Contact the represented academic department at least once a month; and, 7. Have no more than three (3) unexcused missed rollcalls in one month Attend seventy-five percent (75%) of regularly scheduled meetings. At-Large Senators

At-Large Senators shall; 1. Uphold the Student Body Constitution; 2. Contact constituents at least twice a month; 3. Provide a monthly report to the Student Senate Oversight Committee; 4. Serve on a Student Government and/or College Committee; 5. Unless otherwise stated in procedures, maintain at least a 2.0 GPA; Legislative Intent This Bill seeks to create the volunteer position of Senate Projectionist and re-phrase attendance laws.

Have no more than three (3) unexcused missed rollcalls in one month Attend seventy-five percent (75%) of regularly scheduled meetings. All legislative staff shall be Senators chosen by Senate.

SBS 100.02 shall be amended as follows: Title 2: Legislative Branch Chapter 200: Powers and Responsibilities of Legislative Branch Exclusionary Offices Chapter 201: Powers and Responsibilities of the Legislative Staff and Senators Chapter 202: Standing Committees Chapter 203: Ad-hoc Committees Chapter 204: Sub-Committees Chapter 205: Representation Chapter 206: Procedures of the Student Senate

This Bill seeks to re-establish and update the SG Handbook.

Chapter 501 Powers and Responsibilities of the Programming Directors


501.01 The Travel Director There shall be three (3) Student Government Programming Directors; 1. Social Events 2. Community Events 3. External Events The purpose of the Travel Director is to organize and plan travels. The purpose of the Community Events Director is to organize large-scale events. The purpose of the External Events Director is to organize off-campus events and trips. The Travel Director shall; The Directors shall; 1. Convene meetings for the committee to which they are assigned; 2. Attend directors meetings weekly, unless excused by the Event Chair and Finance Chair; 3. Present a weekly report to the board of directors (as defined in Chapter 503) regarding the business of the committee; 4. Attend one budget and travel workshop per semester; 5. Be available to all student by means of five (5) weekly published office hours; 6. Report directly to the Event Chair and Finance Chair to discuss effectiveness and concerns of the committee; 7. Complete all required paperwork for the committees events and present to the Event Chair and Finance Chair for final approval; 8. Hold and chair regular meetings of the committee; 9. Ensure that minutes are taken at each committee meeting and distributed to committee members; 10. Publish a monthly report on their committees activities. 501.013 The Directors may; 1. Cancel a meeting of their committee with due cause; 2. Cancel an event, or any aspect of an event, if deemed in the absence of the Event Chair or Finance Chair; and, 3. Propose a program to the Event Chair and Finance Chair.

Hiring of Directors shall abide by the following; 1. Interested applicants must fill out an application and return it to the Event Chair or Finance Chair. 2. Once selected by the Event Chair and Finance Chair, the director shall enter a two week probationary period, during which they may be assigned tasks for evaluation. 3. Following completion of the probationary period, the director shall be confirmed by a simple majority in the Student Senate.

Evaluation procedures are as follows; 1. Once a student completes their probationary period, they must submit reports to the Event Chair and Finance Chair at the end of each month. 2. The Event Chair and Finance Chair must conduct written performance evaluations of each director at the end of each month.

501.04

Removal of Directors shall follow the following procedure; 1. If a student receives an evaluation that is deemed to be unsatisfactory, they may be removed from office or placed on probation at the discretion of the Event Chair and Finance Chair. 2. If a student receives unsatisfactory evaluations for two consecutive months, they are to be removed from office by the Event Chair and Finance Chair. 3. If a director is removed, they can appeal the decision of the Event Chair and Finance Chair to the Supreme Court.
