JesusisstilllookingfordisciplesthatwilltakehisGospelintotheharvestfields.Unfortunately,wehavea problem.Churchesaroundtheworldhavebecomeineffectualinreachingthelostandunchurched.Our modelofministry,drawpeopletoabuildingwitheverygimmickyoucanthinkof,isnotworking.Weneed abetterway,aNewTestamentway,andanapostolicway. ChristwillreturnforagloriousChurchthathasclearedawaythehumanisticdrossand rediscoveredGod smodelforeffectiveministry.Ministryleadersarestrugglingwithfallingchurch attendance,apathyandlukewarmnessintheircongregationsandthelackofspiritualfervor.Ifwewant somethingdifferentthenwemustdosomethingdifferent.Weneedanewmodelofministry.Current churchmodelsdoeverythingtheycantodrawpeopletotheirbuildingstoattendservices.Thatmodel onlyproducesagroupofpeopleshuffledfromonechurchtothenext.Nonewconverts. ApostolicministrygiftsbringstructureandordertotheChurch(Titus1:5).Wecannotexpectchangeby doingthesamethingthisyearthatdidnotworktheyearbefore.ToreachourcitiesforChristapostolic tacticsareneeded.BuildingapostolicteamsandcompaniesofsentonesfromAntiochmodelministries isoneofthosetactics(Acts13).Insteadofexpectingthelosttoattendourchurchesontheirown accordwemustgooutandgetthem.ThishowthefounderoftheChurch,Christ,taughthisdisciples. Jesussaid, Gooutintothehighwaysandhedgesandcompelthemtocomeinthatmyhousemaybe filled (Luke14:23).WemustlearnhowtocompeltheunchurchedtocomeintoGodshouse.Thisisthe NewTestamentmodelforchurchgrowth,gogetthem. Ifwearegoingtoseethegloriouschurchrevealedthenweneedtochangethewaywereachourcities withtheGospel(Ephesians5:27).Apostolicchurchesaremodelingadifferentpatternforministry. TherearemanyreferencestothebaptismoftheHolySpiritintheWordofGod.AfterJesusresurrection hecommandedhisdisciplesnottoleaveJerusalembuttowaitforthepromiseoftheFather.Jesushad spokenofthissamepromisewhenhesaid, Ifyoulovemekeepmycommandments.AndIwillpraythe FatherandhewillgiveyouanotherComforterthathemayremainwithyouforevereventheSpiritoftruth whomtheworldcannotreceivebecauseitseethhimnotneitherknowethhim:butyouknowhimforhe dwellethwithyouandwillbeinyou (John14:1517).Jesusdeclared, ForJohntrulybaptizedwithwater butyoushallbebaptizedwiththeHolyGhostnotmanydaysfromnow. Jesusalsoassuredthemthat theywould receivepoweraftertheHolyGhostwascomeonthemandthattheywouldbewitnessesto him (Acts1:48).JohntheBaptistalsoprophesiedofthisgreatbaptism. Responding,hepreachedhisfirst HolyGhostempoweredsermon.Hismessagepiercedtheheartsofthehearersandtheyasked, What mustwedo? Peter,whojustdaysbeforedeniedtheLordJesus,answeredwithgreatboldness. Repent, andbebaptizedeveryoneofyouinthenameofJesusChristfortheremissionofsinsandyouwillreceive thegiftoftheHolyGhost.Forthepromiseistoyouandtoyourchildrenandtoallthatareafaroffevenas manyastheLordourGodshouldcall (Acts2:3739). ThissamebaptismoftheHolySpiritisavailableforyourightnow.Letspraytogether.Jesus.Youaremy LordandmySavior.LordIwanteverythingthatyouhavetogiveme.Iwantthissamepreciousgiftofthe HolySpiritthatyoupouredoutonyourservantsinthatupperroom.Byfaithandaccordingtoyourword, baptizemeandfillmerightnowwithyourHolySpirit.Iacceptyourpromisebyfaith.Thankyou,Lord.

STEPTHREE:LAYINGONOFHANDSANDSPIRITUALIMPARTATION
Paulmodeledhisapostolicministrythroughthelayingonofhandsforimpartationonthosetwelve disciples. AndwhenPaulhadlaidhishandsonthem,theHolyGhostcameonthemandtheyspakewith tonguesandprophesied (Acts19:6).Paultaughthisnewteamthedoctrineofthelayingonofhandsand thepowerofapostolicimpartation.ThisdoctrineoriginatedwithChrist(Hebrews6:2).Afterheprayedthere wasareleaseoftheHolySpiritonthesebelieversandtheybegantospeakinothertonguesand prophesy. Apostolicministryisaministryofimpartation.PaulsaidinRomans, IwanttocometoyouthatImight passonsomespiritualgifttotheendyoumaybeestablished (Romans1:11).Therearemanyexamples oftheministryofthelayingonofhandsthroughoutScripture.

STEPFOUR:MODELBOLDNESSINSPIRIT
ThenextsteptheApostlePauldidwastoshowaboldabilitytopreachandteachtheGospeltoanotso receptivegroupofreligiouspeopleforthreemonths. Andallthemenwereabouttwelve.Andhewentintothesynagogueandspokeboldlyforthespace ofthreemonths,disputingandpersuadingthethingsconcerningthekingdomofGod.Butwhen diverswerehardened,andbelievednot,butspakeevilofthatwaybeforethemultitude,hedeparted fromthem,andseparatedthedisciples,disputingdailyintheschoolofoneTyrannus (Acts19:79).

Graceforspiritualboldnessisanapostolictrait.TheApostlePaultrainedbyexample.Heretheteam getsachancetohearPaulspeakingboldlyinthesynagoguechallengingandswayingthelisteners. Apostolicboldnessexpressesitselfduringconflict.NoticetoothatPaultaughtabouttheKingdomofGod. CertainlyPaulspokeofthedeath,burialandresurrectionofChristandtheatoningbloodofJesus.This Scripture,however,sayshespokeboldlyabouttheKingdomofGod.ThemessageoftheKingdomofGod isreestablishingtheKingdomofGodonearththroughChristdisciples.Inmybook"KingdomLiving"you willdiscoverwhatJesusandhisapostlesreallypreached.YouwontseethispreachingonChristian television. TheHolyGhostlovesboldness.Tobeboldshowsareadinesstotakerisksandfacedanger.Notboldness workedupbymanssoulbutevidenceoftheinfillingoftheHolySpirit.Apostolicgraceisvisible.

STEPFIVE:FREEOFRACISMANDPREJUDICE
Thefifthprincipletheapostlemodelsarebreakingdownwallsofracismandprejudice.Paulleftthe churchafterthreemonthsandtaughtinTyrannusschoolfortwoyears.Thiswasamultiethnicschool withbothJewsandGentiles.HerePaulsgraceflourishedand allofAsiaheardthewordoftheLord (Acts 19:10). Paul,takingthepatternfromtheAntiochchurchtaughtthegospelwasnotforJewsonlybutalso Gentiles.Heteachesthemtobreakthroughwallsofculturalseparation,prejudiceandracism.Its unfortunatethatpeoplewhosaytheyloveChristrefusetoworshipinmultiethnicsettings.Theapostolic teammustguardthemselvesfrompartiality,favoritismanddiscrimination.Racistpeoplecanneverenter thenewapostolicChurchrevolution.

STEPSIX:TRAININDELIVERANCEMINISTRY
Thesixthsteptoforminganapostoliccompanyistrainingindeliveranceministry. AndGodwroughtspecialmiraclesbythehandsofPaul:Sothatfromhisbodywerebroughtunto thesickhandkerchiefsorapronsandthediseasesdepartedfromthemandtheevilspiritswentoutof them (Acts19:1112). PaulwasgiventheopportunitytodisplaythemiracleworkingpowerofGodandteachthenewlyformed teamaboutdeliveranceministry.Apostlesdontignorethedevil.Youcannotbuildanewapostolicchurch andignoreenemiesintheunseenspiritworld. Inthepastsomeuntrainedoverzealouspeoplehaveabusedthemeritsofdeliveranceministrybutthat doesntmeanweshouldstophelpingpeople.Sometrytoreplaceholylivingandobediencewithexcuses forsinfulbehaviorthatcanoftenbelinkedtogenerationalcurses,soultiesandwitchcraft.Ourapostolic teams,therefore,musttraininspiritualwarfareanddeliveranceministry.Jesussaidthat deliveranceis thechildrensbread (Matthew15:22,26).Paultrainedthemembersofhischurchtoputonthearmorof Godandengagespiritualenemies. Finally,mybrethren,bestrongintheLordandinthepowerofhis might.PutonthewholearmorofGodthatyoumaybeabletostandagainstthewilesofthedevil.Forwe wrestlenotagainstfleshandbloodbutagainstprincipalities,againstpowers,againsttherulersofthe darknessofthisworld,againstspiritualwickednessinhighplaces (Ephesians6:1012). BeforeJesussentouthisapostolicteamshegavethempoweragainstspirits. Hegavethempower againstuncleanspirits,tocastthemoutandtohealallmannerofsicknessandallmannerofdisease (Matthew10:1).Again,Jesusnevertaughthisapostlestoignorethedevil.Jesusdidntleavethemalone andneithershouldwe.Demonicpowersarestillsaying, Letusalonewhathavewetodowithyou,thou JesusofNazareth?Artthoucometodestroyus?IknowyouwhoyouaretheHolyOneofGod. Jesus answeredthem, Holdthypeaceandcomeoutofhim (Luke4:3435).Diseaseisoften,notalways, directlyrelatedtodemonicactivityasseeninthefollowingScriptures. HowGodanointedJesusofNazarethwiththeHolyGhostandwithpower:whowentaboutdoing good,andhealingallthatwereoppressedofthedevilforGodwaswithhim (Acts10:38). TherecamealsoamultitudeoutofthecitiesroundabouttoJerusalem,bringingsickfolks,andthem whichwerevexedwithuncleanspirits:andtheywerehealedeveryone (Acts5:16). Understandingyourauthorityasadiscipleinspiritualwarfareanddeliveranceministryisimportanttothe apostolicteam.spiritualwarfareissimplybindingandloosinginprayerandattackingonpurposespiritual

strongholdsofoppositionandresistancetotheadvancementoftheGospelinaterritory(Matthew18:18 20).Itisatakingup,inprayer,theauthorityofthebelieverthatJesusgavehisdisciples(Luke10:1720). Thisisallwiththeunderstandingthatwearenotwrestlingwithpeople,butwithprincipalities,powers, rulersofthedarknessofthisworldandspiritualwickednessinhighplaces(Ephesians6:12). Deliveranceministryandthecastingoutofdemonsisthefirstsignthatshouldfollowthebeliever. And thesesignswillfollowthemthatbelieveInmynamewilltheycastoutdevils (Mark16:17).Anapostolic governingchurchneversubstitutesdeliverancewithcounseling.Theydonttrytotalkoutwhatcanonly becastout.Thisisnottosaythattheydontoffercounseling,theydo.Apostolicministry,however,flows intheanointingthatsetscaptivesfree.TherearemanydifferenttypesofprayerintheWordofGod,all givenforSpiritlifelivingandtheadvancementoftheGospel(Ephesians6:18). ApostolicteamsmustpreparetomeetstrongoppositionfromSatanandoccultinfluencesinsociety(1 Thessalonians2:18).Christianscannotcontinuetoavoidspiritualconflictwhilehidingbehindacomfortable andoftenbacksliddencondition.Todothisignorestheneedsofthosearoundthem.Opposition,abuse andresistanceareallpartofthepackage.Pauldeclared, Foragreatdoorandeffectualisopenedtome andtherearemanyenemies (1Corinthians16:9).TheeffectiveadvancementoftheGospelalways causesareaction,somearenegative.

STEPSEVEN:ASERVANT'SHEART
Apostlestrainthosewithservanthearts.Stepsevenforformingapostolicteamsandcompaniesisthe servantsheart. Afterthesethingswereended,Paulpurposedinthespirit,whenhehadpassedthroughMacedonia andAchaiatogotoJerusalem,saying,AfterIhavebeenthere,ImustalsoseeRome.Sohesent intoMacedoniatwoofthemthatministeredtohim,TimothyandErastusbuthestayedinAsiafora season (Acts19:2122). Paulcompletestheapostolicpatterngathering,teaching,trainingandsending.HechoosesTimothyand Erastus,twoofhisspiritualsonsthatministeredtohimandsentthemonapostolicassignment.Erastus wasnotonlyaservanthewasacitymanager(Romans16:23).Untilyouhavelearnedtoservesomeone elseyoucanneverbeasentone.Minister,fromtheGreekminusorminor,meansonewhoactsasan inferioragentinobedienceorsubserviencetoanotherandonewhoservesorofficiatesincontrasttothe master(magnus).ThemostfamiliarEnglishworddescribingaservantisdeacon.Someoneonceasked, HowdoIknowifIamaservant? Theansweris, Youfindoutwhenyouarebeingtreatedlikeone. TheHolySpiritisteachingustheimportanceofapostolicteamsandcompanies.Oncewethoughtofthe apostlesPaulorPeterworkingalone,butnowweknowtheyneverworkedalone,theyformedmany teams. ACTONEXERCISE IknowthatyouwanttodosomethinggreatforGodwithyourlife.FollowtheApostlePaulsexampleand getbaptizedintheHolySpirit.Heisyourteacherwhowill leadyouandguideyouinalltruth.
