Mississippi 8 Conference Track & Field Meet Tuesday May 22th, 2012 STMA Middle School West

Participating Schools: Becker, Big Lake, Buffalo, Cambridge-Isanti, Monticello, Rogers, and Saint Michael-Albertville. 1. 1/8 spikes only. No tape on the track. Tennis balls will be provided. 2. No team camps will be allowed on the infield. Please pick up your areas after the meet. No grills. 3. Trainer will be on site. 4. Concessions are available. 5. Staging for all events will be at the benches behind the 100 meter start line. 6. Athletes may warm-up on the backstretch. No coaches or spectators are infield. allowed on the

7. Buses may drop off athletes at the track and may park to the east of the middle school. 8. All throwing implements for both boys and girls will be weighed and marked prior to the meet. Weigh in will be in the storage shed as you enter the track stadium. 9. Opening heights will be agreed upon at the coaches meeting considering seed performances to determine 8 places fairly and efficiently. 10. Admission: $6 adults; $4 students 11. Team academic forms should be completed and brought to the coaches meeting. These can be picked up from your athletic directors. Use 18 athletes. 12. 13. Field Events: Starting heights will be determined at the seeding meeting. Shot and discus events will have three preliminary throws and be flighted, with the top nine advancing to the finals. Long and triple jumps will be

cafeteria style with three jumps and the top nine advancing to the finals. If there is a tie for ninth place, it will not be broken and all tied will advance. Pole vault and high jump will use the three alive system until there are five individuals left. Implements must be weighed and inspected prior to use. 14. Running Events: Preferred lanes for the 100, 200, 400, HH, 300 hurdles, 4 X 100, 4 X 200, and 4 X 400 will be 4-5-3-6-2-7-1-8. Boxes will be used for the 800, 1600, 3200 and 4 X 800, the number of boxes depends on the host track. The 4 X 400 will use a three-turn stagger. 15. Moving on to the finals for 100/110 Hurdles, 100m dash. Winner of each heat plus the next 3 or 4 fastest times depending on how many heats there are. 16.
