SECTION 16964 AUDIO VISUAL SYSTEM 1 1.1 1.1.1 GENERAL System Overview The objective in design of the conference room and conference center is to provide high quality but simple to use equipment that can be setup ready for use with minimal input from operators technical staff. The audio visual systems shall be designed to accommodate the following: Power point or other PC based presentation DVD playback from PC drive Audio reproduction form PC based presentations Video Conference via portable self contained unit Audio conference / conference call facility

Conference center shall be equipped with permanently installed audio visual presentation systems including the following: Motorized projection screen, recessed ceiling mount, minimum size 3000mm x 4000mm, which the final dimension shall match and suit for the conference centre application. Ceiling mount data video projector on motorized lift, minimum 2500 ANSI. WXGA resolution Floor box AV connection, small power, telephone and data points.

A floor or wall mounted panel shall provide a means of connecting clients computer and portable video or videoconference equipment to the system. The size and location of facility panels shall be coordinated to provide for voice and data outlets. The data video projector shall be capable of displaying computer presentations up to WXGA resolution and PAL video. A self contained portable videoconference unit shall be provided for use in the conference room and conference center. The microphone system shall able to warrant a microphone speech within the conference room and conference center to an acceptable level.

AUDIO VISUAL SYSTEM FOR CONFERENCE CENTRE

2.1.1 The audiovisual systems for Conference Centre shall be designed the flexibility and to provide high quality but simple to use equipment that can be set up ready for use with limited input from the operators technical staff but also to provide the cabling and power supply infrastructure that can be utilized by external equipment rental and production companies to stage more complex events.

2.1.2 The Conference Centre audio visual systems shall be designed to accommodate the following: Power point or other PC based presentation DVD playback from PC drive or dedicated DVD player Audio reproduction from PC based presentations, CD player or DVD player Audio reproduction from wired and wireless radio microphones Video Conference via portable self contained unit Large Screen video / data display via ceiling mounted projectors and motorized projection screens

2.1.3 Conference Centre divisions shall be considered as independent presentation areas with the capability of combing zones in any logical combination. Combined zones shall be operable as though they were single areas both in terms of audio reproduction and control functionality. 2.1.4 Each divisions of the Conference Centre shall be provided with independent audio systems but with connection and access to the common AV equipment within the conference centre 2.1.5 Ceiling speaker layout shall be coordinated with Interior Design reflected ceiling plans and the system shall be designed to provide even coverage (+/- 3dB) and to be capable of an Aweighted sound pressure level of 10dB above ambient noise level with sufficient headroom to cope to cope with transient peaks. 2.1.6 In order that the performance of the installed audio systems are optimized and that the intelligibility of speech reproduction is maximized it is important that the acoustic performance of the Conference Centre is considered. RASTI design goal for Ballroom should be > 0.65. 2.1.7 Conference Centre audiovisual facilities shall include the display of PC data, video from VCR and DVD, HITV, CATV, VOD and the reproduction of audio from microphones, local CD player or from the central BGM sources.

Abu Dhabi New England Centre for Children Residence & Education Buildings Specification 2.1.8 Floor mounted facility panels shall provide a means of connecting microphones, clients computer and portable videoconference equipment to the system. 2.1.9 The size and location of facility panels shall be coordinated to provide for voice and data outlets. 2.1.10 Data Video projectors shall have a minimum light output of 4000 ANSI lumens, to be determined considering screen size and ambient lighting levels, and a minimum resolution of WXGA. Projection screens shall be 4:3 format and of the largest practical size.

2.2

Motorized Screen

2.2.1 Electronic roll down projection screens (Motorized screen) in the Conference Centre shall be provided. 2.2.2 The proposed unit should be independently motorized aluminum ceiling closure disappears in to the case when the screen is lowered. 2.2.3 Hinges should be completely concealed, and the enclosure should support for the entire length. Screen should be remotely operated. 2.2.4 Each of the projection screen should have a size of 3m x 4m (H x W) in the Conference Centre or whichever best suit to the Conference Centre space.

3 Audio Visual System for Conference Room 3.1.1 The audio visual systems for each Conference Room shall be designed to accommodate the following: Power point or other PC based presentation DVD playback from PC drive Audio reproduction form PC based presentations Video Conference via portable self contained unit Audio conference / conference call facility

4 4.1 4.1.1

EXECUTION Installation Location of the LCD flat screen television, projector and other AV equipment shall be as per the detailed design and shall be in general as indicated in the Floor drawing and schematic diagram. It will be the contractor responsibility to completely satisfy themselves as to the exact nature and existing conditions of the site areas as well as the requirements of the specifications for the extent and quality of work to be performed. Failure to adequately assess these factors will not relieve the contractor of the obligation to perform the requirements of this specification.

Testing and Commissioning

4.2.1 The Contractor shall be responsible for testing and commissioning of the installation in accordance with all applicable documents in the Contract set. 4.2.2 Testing shall be comprehensive and sufficient to demonstrate compliance with each requirement and as per system manufacturer recommendations. 4.2.3 A proposed test plan shall be submitted to the SECURITY CONSULTANT or Owners representative for approval before commencement of final test. 4.2.4 Final tests shall be conducted in the presence of the SECURITY CONSULTANT or Owners representative.

4.3

Quality Control/Assurance

4.3.1 The Quality Control/Assurance duties shall be performed by the Contractor. The system of quality control verification shall be in accordance with ISO 9000 4.3.2 Design, manufacture, testing and method of installation of all apparatus and materials furnished under requirement of these specifications shall conform to latest publications or standard rules of the following: i. ii. iii.

Regulations for electrical installation works by Local Electricity Authority. Department of Civil Defense requirements Standards and requirements of Local Telephone Authority, if applicable.

4.4.1 Contractor shall submit all items in accordance with the requirements but not be limited to the following:
a) Model numbers of all components furnished on the job. b) Manufacturers original catalog and technical data sheets for all components. c) Input power requirements for all system components. d) Complete engineered drawings indicating:

Manufacturer model numbers and specifications. Dimensions, layouts, installation details. Point-to-point wiring diagrams for all system devices. Termination details for all system devices. Single-line system architecture drawings representing the entire system. Interfaces with all sub-systems.

Training and Instruction

4.5.1 Operator training shall consist of a two days course conducted on-site by a trained professional instructor. 4.5.2 Training materials shall consist of the following: i. Formal course outline and agenda. ii. Operator training student guide for each student. iii. Hands-on practice with on-line equipment. iv. Written examinations. v. 4.5.3 The training course shall be a minimum of two continuous business days. 4.5.4 Additional equipment Video Imaging training sessions shall be made available to the SECURITY CONSULTANT if necessary, at no additional cost. 4.6 Warranty

4.6.1 All equipment furnished under this contract shall be warranted for a period of twelve (12) Months from the date of final SECURITY CONSULTANT acceptance of the system. During the warranty period, the contactor require to: i. ii. Respond to service requests on-site, if required.
