Study Of The Word Covenant This study took place between November 1, 2011 and April 6, 2012.

It covers 196 scriptures, finished in just over 5 months. The scriptures will be given and the thought/meaning from the scriptures. Notes on the thought/meaning will also be given. I hope you enjoy the study. Scriptures Thought/meaning Genesis 6:18 Grace=contract Note: The reason why the thought with this is grace=contract is just because God gave grace to Noah doesn't mean Noah didn't do anything. A covenant is a contract and that means there are term and conditions to the contract. Genesis 9:9 Contract=terms Genesis 9:11 Waters won't destroy Note: God keeps his terms of the covenant, or contract. Genesis 9:12 God shows evidence Genesis 9:15 Conditional Genesis 9:16 Time passed finding out Note: Everlasting to God makes time stand still. Genesis 15:18 Land contract Genesis 17:4 People contract Genesis 17:9 Sign the contract Note: This implies that those that came after Abraham had to agree with the covenant, or contract, with God to make it real. Genesis 17:10 Piece of flesh Note: The one of the terms was circumcision. Genesis 17:13 Only God can re-codify Note: The thought behind this is that if circumcision was everlasting then why did God seemly change it in Acts 15? So, only God can change is Law. Some think the issue in Acts 15 only applied to Gentiles and not to Jews. Genesis 17:14 Break the contract, get cut off Genesis 17:19 Generational Genesis 17:21 Stands with Isaac Genesis 21:27-32 Exchange of goods Genesis 31:44-52 No harm clause Exodus 6:4 Continuation Exodus 6:5 God responds to pain Exodus 19:5 Precious cargo Exodus 23:32 No contract with sin Exodus 24:7 Contractual evidence Exodus 24:8 Blood must be shed Note: It is interesting to find out why God wanted blood to be shed, beyond the fact that the blood is the life of things. Exodus 31:14-17 Sabbath contract Exodus 34:12 Trapped animal Note: An animal someone wants to trap uses a snare to do so. Exodus 34:15 Pay the whore Note: This verse to God describes spiritually committing fornication and/or adultery.

Exodus 34:27 Spoken contract Exodus 34:28 Agree to the 10 Note: Then why are the 10 treated like they are only 9, or 8? Leviticus 2:13 Agree to season Note: Another possible mystery why God wants salt with the offerings. Leviticus 26:1-9 Terms fulfill contract Leviticus 26:15 Contract voided Leviticus 26:25 Vengeance for disobeying Leviticus 26:42 Carried forward Note: The covenant didn't just stop with one person, that being Abraham. Leviticus 26:44 God doesn't break contract Leviticus 26:45 God's obligations Numbers 18:19 Matthew 5:13 Numbers 25:6-12 Action=Shalom Numbers 25:13 Contract for life Deuteronomy 4:13 Contracted to keep the 10 Deuteronomy 4:23 Oblivious Note: The word forget in the Hebrew means oblivious, to mean that is the way the people thought about God's Law. Much like it is today. Deuteronomy 4:31 God is not oblivious Deuteronomy 7:1-2 No contract with the heathen Deuteronomy 7:9 Mercy with the terms Deuteronomy 7:12 Keep the terms=God keeps the covenant Note: It is popular to say that we are under the New Covenant of Grace, and therefore think there are no terms. But the word in the middle, Covenant, is what is not understood. Deuteronomy 8:18 God's contract=wealth Deuteronomy 9:9 Polished contract Note: The word stone here comes from the Hebrew to build, so as to say its a foundation in our relationship with God. Deuteronomy 17:2 Cross the line Deuteronomy 29:1 Different contracts Deuteronomy 29:9 Keep the terms=prospering Deuteronomy 29:12 No terms=curses Deuteronomy 29:21 Consequential contract Deuteronomy 29:25 Refuse terms Deuteronomy 31:16 Cease keeping the terms Deuteronomy 31:26 Law with contract Note: God uses the same Law today to be a witness against those who won't keep it. Deuteronomy 33:8-9 Levitical contract Joshua 4:7-9 Power of contracts Joshua 6:6 Contract of warnings Joshua 7:11 Idol terms Joshua 7:15 Repeat offender Joshua 23:16 Breach of contract Judges 2:1 God contractually committed Judges 2:20 Israel not committed 1 Samuel 4:5 Contract Earth 1 Samuel 11:1-2 Blind contract

1 Samuel 18:1-3 Contracts bind 1 Samuel 20:8 Contract of friends 2 Samuel 15:24 Holders of the contract 2 Samuel 23:5 Salvation through covenant 1 Kings 8:6 Place of contract 1 Kings 8:9 The Terms 1 Kings 8:23 Keep your heart, keep the covenant 1 Kings 11:11 Always consequences 1 Kings 19:10 I'm all done syndrome 2 Kings 11:4-11 Contract to protect and serve 2 Kings 13:23 God keeps terms 2 Kings 17:15 Strayed from terms 2 Kings 17:35 Fear no god but YHWH 2 Kings 17:38 Don't be oblivious Note: The Hebrew word forget means to be oblivious. Hence the saying to one not understanding: Your oblivious. 2 Kings 23:2-3 Rededicate the terms 2 Kings 23:3 Make good on the terms 2 Kings 23:3 Stand firm in the terms 2 Kings 23:21 Passover contract 1 Chronicles 15:28 Contract gives joy 1 Chronicles 16:15 Remember the terms 1 Chronicles 16:16-17 Terms like east is from west 1 Chronicles 17:1-3, 12 Terms in the Church 1 Chronicles 22:19 Contract of the heart 1 Chronicles 28:18 Lucifer covered and defended 2 Chronicles 5:10 Contract in stone Note: This verse shows that the Tablets of the Torah were kept separate from the other regulations--regulations modern day Christians attach to the Law to do away with it. 2 Chronicles 6:14 God is under contract 2 Chronicles 13:5 Contract to David 2 Chronicles 15:12 Terms to seek YHWH God 2 Chronicles 21:7 God bound by the terms 2 Chronicles 23:16 Terms to be YHWH'S 2 Chronicles 29:10 Contracted from the heart 2 Chronicles 34:31 Perform the terms Note: Another verse that confirms the keeping of God's Commandments found, among other places, in Exodus Chapter 20. Ezra 10:3 Terms of marriage Nehemiah 1:4-5 God keeps the terms, we keep the commandments Note: Why do modern day Christians think they are some how different from these Jews who were told by God to keep the commandments? Nehemiah 9:32 God attends to his part Nehemiah 9:38 Written terms Nehemiah 13:29 Polluted priesthood Job 31:1 Exodus 20:14, 17

Psalms 25:10 Keeping the terms=truth Psalms 25:14 Fear YHWH=intimacies with God Note: The Hebrew word for secret here means intimacy. Psalm 44:17 Don't cheat the terms Psalm 50:5 Covenant=personal sacrifices Psalm 50:16 False preaching Psalm 55:20 Prostituted terms Psalm 74:20 Focus on the terms not the darkness Psalm 78:10 Journey without Torah Psalm 78:37 False faith=no terms Psalm 89:3 Contractual alliance Psalm 89:28 Permanent contract Psalm 89:34 God keeps his word Psalm 89:39 Rejected the covenant Psalm 103:17-18 Keep the covenant, keep the commandments. Psalm 105:10 Terms continue Psalm 106:45 Bring to memory Psalm 111:9 Appointed terms (Leviticus 23) Psalm 132:12 Keep the terms=guard your mind Proverbs 2:17 Oblivious to God Isaiah 24:5 Cease the Perpetual Isaiah 28:15 Terms of death Isaiah 28:18 Death canceled Isaiah 42:5-6 Teaching contracted Isaiah 49:8 Y'Shua is Salvation (...in a day of Y'Shua have I helped thee....) Note: No one is saying the name Jesus from the Greek is wrong. But modern day Christians miss the point of what the Name Y'Shua really means. The word salvation here from the Hebrew translates to Yeshuwah, none other than our Saviour. It is interesting that God's Name YHWH is also found here. Isaiah 54:10 Terms of peace Isaiah 56:4 Feasts in the contract Isaiah 56:6 Foreigner's contract Isaiah 59:21 Acts 5:32 Note: There is much confusion on what is suppose to be obeyed in Acts 5:32 in order to receive God's Spirit in the first place. Jeremiah 11:1-2 Hearing the terms=doing the terms Jeremiah 11:3 God detests contract breakers Jeremiah 11:6 Don't merely hear (Romans 2:13) Jeremiah 11:8 Obeying the terms Jeremiah 11:10 Violated the terms Jeremiah 14:21 God won't violate Jeremiah 22:9 They let go Jeremiah 31:31 Refreshed terms Jeremiah 31:32 Terms broken

Jeremiah 31:33 Torah Heart Jeremiah 32:40 Respect=Eternal terms Jeremiah 33:20 Lost the pattern Jeremiah 33:21 Lost pattern=no Messiah Jeremiah 34:13 Terms=release from bondage Note: Egypt is a type of sin that God delivered Israel from. and better promises. Hebrews 8:9 Temporal things Note: The covenant with Israel was primarily about land and material things. The better covenant is about spiritual things. Hebrews 8:9 Voided the terms Hebrews 8:10 Terms of spiritual endearment Hebrews 8:13 New sacrifice through Y'Shua Hebrews 9:1 Terms of worship Hebrews 10:16 Torah inward Hebrews 10:29 Y'Shua's blood unholy Hebrews 12:24 Terms in Y'Shua's blood Hebrews 13:20 Y'Shua's blood=Eternal terms Romans 1:31 Sign then violate Note: Those who break a covenant, or the terms, will agree and then break the agreement. Romans 9:4 Different contracts Galatians 4:24 God's different terms Ephesians 2:12 Unbelievers to divine terms The reasoning behind the word Covenant meaning a contract with terms and conditions should be simple to understand. Take a marriage contract for an example. In order for a marriage to work the terms have to be followed. But yet, Modern Day Christians don't seem to be able to see this same thing with God in a Spiritual Covenant, a Spiritual Marriage. A marriage with God won't work either if the terms are not followed. It becomes understandable why God says what he says in Romans 8:5-8, King James Version: For they that are after the flesh {Marriage to humans} do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit {Marriage to God} the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded {understand a covenant with humans} is death; but to be spiritually minded {understand a covenant with God} is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law {terms and conditions of a relationship} of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh {only human covenants} can not please God.
