A weekly bulletin for Parents and Students

Dear High School Parents, I am writing this final Friday Bulletin for this school year in quite a state of shock! Where did this year disappear to? In fact where did the last four years go for this class? Wasnt it just yesterday that we ushered in this Class of 2012 as a young, eager and fresh grade 9 batch? Instead, today as seniors, the class of 2012 were extremely busy preparing for their graduation ceremony and attending a wonderful Senior Celebration event. A huge thank you to the graduation committee and those who worked on providing the best ever senior celeb lunch! I couldnt help but feel so proud to be a part of the plans for this particular classs graduation. They are an extraordinary batch. It is going to be a fabulous graduation ceremony, to be held next Tuesday in the ISM fine arts theater at 5:30pm. For the first time ever ISM will stream graduation live on the internet at the following link http://community.ismanila.org/livestream/ As is usual at this time of the year, ISM is an exceptionally busy place. Last Friday we had a wonderful celebration in the little theater as we inducted the new members of the various honor societies that we offer here at ISM. The IB exams were completed last Tuesday and the internal grade 9-11 exams finished last Friday. Also last Tuesday we hosted the annual Academic and Service Awards. Well over 100 students were recognized for excellence across academics, leadership, and service. We will be actively engaged in classes right through until the last day of school, next Thursday May 31st. This will be a half day, with early release at 12:00 noon. Report cards will be available to pick up from the HS Office in the week beginning June 4th and they will also be available online through your Power School log in on June 1st. Unofficial transcripts will also be available for pick up in the week of June 4th however please be reminded of our school policy that we no longer distribute official transcripts to students or parents. These are sent directly to the institutions of your choice. Next Tuesday we will be graduating 188 students, our largest batch at this campus. I wish to congratulate all seniors and their families on an excellent year. I know they have been well prepared and clutching their ISM Diplomas they will be ready for lift-off (the theme of this years Kawayan Yearbook). They will all be ready to tackle the next important stage in their lives. Please be reminded that the new school year for 2012-2013 will commence on Monday August 6, 2012. FROM THE OPERATIONS AND SECURITY OFFICE: May 25, 2012 A MESSAGE FROM THE OPERATIONS AND SECURITY DEPARTMENT I. IDs for the New School Year Parent IDs Current parent IDs will continue to be valid for the new school year 2012-2013. Parents who require replacement school IDs due to loss or damage can acquire these from the Security Office upon payment of Php100.00 to the Cashier. Student IDs All students will be issued with new ID cards at the beginning of the new school year. This year there will be no need for returning students to visit the Security Office as we will be utilizing the photographs taken for the yearbooks. School Passes School passes issued to parents employees and representatives need to be replaced for next school year. As of August 31, 2012 the blue bordered passes will be invalid. The security office is now accepting applications for new school passes, however the cards will not be available for collection before July 1, 2012. Each family will be given two free school passes. Additional school passes may be obtained after paying a processing fee of Php100.00 each to the Cashiers Office. 2, Car Stickers for the New School Year The car stickers for school year 2012/2013 will be available from the security office beginning July 1, 2012. For vehicles already displaying an existing sticker, parents should submit a completed renewal form with a copy of a current LTO official receipt. For new vehicles, parents are reminded that a copy of the vehicles certificate of registration and a current official receipt need to be submitted with the application. Applications for vehicles registered with companies or other institutions should be supported by a letter of assignment. Each ISM family will be issued one vehicle sticker free of charge. Any additional stickers will be issued following payment of P100 to the cashiers office.
