This document contains important information about how to install and uninstall Check Point products.

1) Download each product you wish to install from the Check Point Download Center web site: http://www.checkpoint.com/downloads/index.jsp 2) Follow the individual installation instructions below for the product you downloaded.

Installing VPN-1 Pro/Express


Nokia Platforms 1) Download
fw1_R60_<Build_Num>_IPSO.tgz

to a temporary directory.

2) At the command line type the following command. If you are upgrading add $FWDIR] to the following command:
newpkg -m LOCAL -n fw1_R60_<Build_Num>_IPSO.tgz

3) Perform the installation from Network Voyager using the FTP and Install Packages form. If you are performing an upgrade, select the Upgrade radio button and choose the previous VPN-1 Pro version. 4) After activating or deactivating a product using Network Voyager, login again as an administrator using the terminal and perform cpstop and cpstart. Installing SmartConsole
Before installing SmartConsole Clients, make sure that all current SmartConsole applications are closed. Windows Platforms 1) Download SmartConsole_R60_<Build_Num>_Win.zip to a temporary directory and extract the file. 2) Run Solaris 1) Download SmartConsole_R60_<Build_Num>_Solaris.tgz to a temporary directory and extract the files. 2) Run the
pkgadd setup.exe.

Installing SmartPortal

Installing SecurePlatform
The Check Point Enterprise Suite NG with Application Intelligence CD is also an installable SecurePlatform boot CD. To install SecurePlatform: 1) Configure the BIOS computer to enable boot from the CD-ROM. 2) Insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive and boot the machine.

Installing Eventia Reporter


Nokia Platforms 1) Download
reporting_R60_<Build_Num>_IPSO.tgz

to a temporary directory.

2) At the command line type the following command:


newpkg -m LOCAL -n reporting_R60_<Build_Num>_IPSO.tgz

Nokia Platforms 1) Download

2) At the command line type the following command:

3) Perform the installation from Network Voyager using the Windows Platforms

A UserAuthority Server on a Windows Platforms can be installed in three modes: Over a VPN-1 Pro module Over a Windows Domain Controller Over a Citrix Metaframe server or a Microsoft Terminal Server
VPN-1 Pro module

a. Download uas_R60_<Build_Num>_Win.tgz to a temporary directory and extract the files. b. Run setup.exe.
Windows Domain Controller

a. Download uas_R60_<Build_Num>_Win.tgz to a temporary directory and extract the files. b. Run setup.exe. c. When prompted to choose which products to install, deselect all products except UserAuthority. d. SVN Foundation is automatically installed. e. When prompted to choose the UserAuthority Server mode, select Microsoft Domain Controller. f. Once the installation process is complete, a Licenses dialog pops up. There is no need to add any licenses to the Domain Controller g. Click Next. The UserAuthority License is per user, not per server and is installed on the SmartCenter or the VPN-1 Pro Enforcement Module. h. Enter the Hit Key Session and the Secure Internal Communication Activation Key. i. Reboot the machine.

b. Run setup.exe c. When prompted to choose which products to install, deselect all products except UserAuthority. d. SVN Foundation is automatically installed. e. When prompted to choose the UserAuthority Server mode, choose Citrix/Terminal Server. f. Once the installation process is complete, a Licenses dialog pops up. There is no need to add any licenses on the Citrix/Terminal Server. g. Click Next. The UserAuthority License is per user, not per server and is installed on the SmartCenter Server or the VPN-1 Pro Enforcement Module. h. Enter the Hit Key Session and the Secure Internal Communication Activation Key. i. Reboot the machine. Solaris 1) Download files. 2) Run the

When uninstalling Check Point products, make sure you remove all of the following: Policy Server and UserAuthority Server. Once these are removed uninstall VPN-1 Pro. When uninstalling Check Point products from a Nokia appliance using Network Voyager, delete one package at a time. Selects Apply and Save after deactivating or deleting each package.
Note - Inspect files (*.def) are overwritten during downgrade.

Uninstalling VPN-1 Pro/Express


When trying to remove previous NG packages on Nokia platforms when VPN-1 Pro/Express is active, perform the following steps: 1) Deactivate VPN-1 Pro/Express NGX R60. But, if dependent packages are active, deactivate them first. 2) Activate the previous SVN Foundation. 3) Delete the previous FireWall-1 version. 4) Deactivate the previous SVN Foundation. 5) Delete a previous SVN Foundation. 6) Activate VPN-1 Pro/Express NGX R60 and dependent products.

There is no way to uninstall SecurePlatform. Reformat the hard drive and install another operating system.

Uninstalling Eventia Reporter

3) When uninstalling NGX R60 products, make sure that VPN-1 Pro/Express NGX R60 is active. 4) Deactivate and delete the VPN-1 Pro/Express NGX R60 only after you have deleted all other NGX R60 products. Uninstalling UserAuthority Server


UserAuthority Server has no backout option. If a previous version is installed, we recommend that you remove it. Nokia Platforms 1) Deactivate 2) Select
Check Point UserAuthority Server NGX R60.

Delete Packages

3) When uninstalling NGX R60 products, make sure that VPN-1 Pro/Express NGX R60 is active. 4) Deactivate and delete the VPN-1 Pro/Express NGX R60 only after you have deleted all other NGX R60 products. Windows Platforms
Uninstalling from a VPN-1 Pro module:

Use the

window to uninstall the UserAuthority Server.

Uninstalling from a Windows Domain Controller

Use the Add/Remove programs window to uninstall the UserAuthority Server and SVN Foundation.
Uninstalling from a Citrix Metaframe or Microsoft Terminal Server
