BRIEF 02

SixteenHT Overview 01 / 05

Brief
Sixteen HT is a print collective set up by the five founding members, Pawel Adamek, Will Duffy, Niall Hargrave, Ben Mckean and myself. The overall aim of the brief is an exploration into screen printing participating in events the promote and thrive off of printing.

Concept
The identity for SixteenHT came from the location that we were based. The idea behind the logo was based on old street signs with a modern minimal spin on it. The aim of the collective to produce individual bodies of work for each event with a different theme.

BRIEF 02

SixteenHT Brand Identity 02 / 05

SixteenHT stationary
The stationary for SixteenHT uses the logo, keeping the colour monochrome, putting the emphasis on the type within the logo. The idea was for the logo to work across both print and digital formats, being easy enough to reproduce and something that can be applied to stationary by each member of the collective.

Design direction
The logotype features heavily within the identity of the collective using black on white and the reverse, white on black. The logo is stamped onto the compliment slip, letterhead and the business cards. Vinyl stickers are used to seal the poster clasps and cellophane bags. The posters are distributed in tubes either black or white complimenting the range of stationary.

Metamorphosis
The theme of exploration for the project was metamorphosis, each individual member went off and interpretated the word in there own way. Individually I produced a range of prints scaling from 594 mm x 420 to 40 x 80 mm.

Design direction
The focus of my investigation was to explore the The focus is on the negative spacing in and around the letterforms, creating compositions with type, adding and subtracting to create shapes and bespoke lettering.

Noise
The theme of exploration within this project was to interprate the word noise. Within this the idea was to generate visual noise using erratic patterns mixed with clean vectors. I produced a range of prints 420mm x 297mm to further investigate the process of silk screen printing.

Design direction
The focus of my investigation was to explore how visual noise can be linked to audio noise. The focus was on epxperimenting with different textures that would determine how to pint.

BRIEF 02

SixteenHT Web presence 05 / 05

Concept
The website is a platform for promotion and exposure with links to the creative blog that runs in unison with the website showcasing up and coming projects and work that is relevent to the collectives output. The website provides an access for people to purchase prints from previous fairs and exhibitions the collective has taken part in. The website provides a link to the twitter page which is a constant updated live feed of up and coming projects.

Design Direction
The brand identity of the stamp and the simple black and white runs throughout the site. The site loads with a gif of a member pulling through a print on the screen bed to reveal the SixteenHT logo which remains on screen after. The site is navigatable with either the side scroller or selecting a specific project, once clicked on the the site scrolls to that project. The site is designed to scale to fit the window, with the images increasing and reducing in size.
