Introduction : "Do elephants come at your door step? And are there any tigers roaming in your city?" This was the question the children of the day care named, The reason the researcher has mentioned the above example in research, is to show the power of stories. It does not matter where you are and what you teach. Stories will always fascinate listeners. Stories have been with human beings ever since they got down from the trees. In fact, the existence of human being started with the story of Eve and Adam. In one's life childhood is the golden age, where telling and listening to stories have a pivotal role to play. At this age child's imagination is of a very high order. Children from three to twelve years live in the world of fairies, magic, and magic wand. Above the question shows that children really think that in India, elephants can come to your door step, and sometimes tigers come to the city. This happens because they have heard this kind of myths in stories. It shows the power of storytelling. To teach English interestingly is to teach it with not with the rules but with fun by telling stories. Teaching English should be fun. Learning Objectives 1. To prepare a Post test to know the effect of the Story telling method. 2. To study the effectiveness of story telling in English language learning of standard 2nd with reference to Teaching method. 3. To study the effectiveness of story telling in English language learning of 2nd standard in relation to their gender. Hypothesis Ho1 There will be no significant difference between the mean scores of the post test of experimental and control group students of second standard of

Ahmedabad. Ho2 There will be no significant difference between the mean scores of the post test of experimental group boys and girls of second standard of Ahmadabad. Ho3 There will be no significant difference between the mean scores of the post test of experimental and control group boys of second standard of Ahmedabad. Ho4 There will be no significant difference between the mean scores of the post test of experimental and control group girls of second standard of Ahmedabad. Population : In the present study the researcher has taken students of standard II of Ahmedabad city as population. Sampling Method : The DEMOCRETIC SCHOOL, THALTEJ English medium school of Ahmedabad. 26 students were selected purposively sampling method. Tool : In the present study the researcher has used post test as the tool. There are four main questions of the post - test and the post - test conations 25 marks. each question is an objective kind of the question. Research Method In the present study the researcher had used experimental method. Method of Analysis : The following statically technique were used with the help of computer aid.Mean, Standard deviation and t-test * Testing of Null Hypothesis : See Table 1 From table-1 it is evident that t-value which is calculated t=1.43 is more less than t0.05=1.96 Hence, the HO1 is accepted. Therefore it can be stated that these two groups were equal regarding teaching method. It means there was no effect of teaching method

Table: 1Mean, Standard Deviation and t-value of Experimental and Control Group Group N Average S.D. t-value Significant Level Experimental 13 22.92 2.14 1.43 NS Controlled 13 23.92 1.32 Table: 2 Mean, Standard Deviation, Standard Error and t-value of boys and girls of Experimental groups Gender N Average S.D. t-value Significant Level Boys 04 22.00 02.94 1.04 NS Girls 09 23.33 01.73 Tabel-3 Mean, Standard Deviation and t-value of Experimental and control group boys Boys N Average S.D. t-value Significant Level Experimental 04 22.00 2.94 1.28 N.S. Control 06 24.00 1.26 Tabel-4 Mean, Standard Deviation, Standard Error and t-value of girls Girls N Average S.D. t-value Significant Level Experimental 09 23.33 1.73 0.66 NS Control 07 23.83 1.46 on pupils' scores of post-test. See Table 2 From table-2 it is evident that t-value which is calculated t=1.04 is less than t0.05=1.96 Hence, the HO2 is accepted So, there is not effect of Gender on the story telling method. See Table 3 From table-3 it is evident that t-value which is calculated i.e. tcal=1.28 is less than t0.05=1.96 Hence, the HO3 is accepted It means that boy of Experimental and control group does not differ significantly. See Table 4 From table-4 it is evident that t-value which is calculated t=0.66 is less than t0.05=1.96 Hence, the HO4 is accepted It means that girls of Experimental and control group does not differ significantly. "Findings : (1) There was no effect of teaching method on pupils' scores of post-test. (2) Boys and girls were equal regarding story telling method means there was no effect of story telling method on gender. (3) Boys of experimental and control group were equal regarding teaching Method. (4) Girls of experimental and control group were equal regarding teaching method
