causes of unemployment In the modern market there is alarming rate of unemployment that has brought the whole world

to a great distress. Unemployment is when one is seeking a job and willing to do it but the job is not available. The percentage of the unemployed workforce is said to have increased doubly since last year. A lot of people have lost jobs as a result of economic recession, associated with the unavailability of resources. These resources have become scarce commodity forcing many countries to economize on the use of the little monetary available. Several companies have henceforth resorted to retrenchment of employees so as to reduce on the cost of production. Some companies have totally closed down premises because instead of making profits, they are operating on huge losses. It is estimated that thousands of jobs are lost every year rendering people unemployed. Another major cause of unavailability of jobs is global warming that has affected the environment, rendering it useless as far as agriculture is concerned. The destruction of environment has made it difficult for agro based activities to take place as expected. The entire environment has been destroyed by unwanted activities such as deforestation and environmental pollution from industries. This has thus led to economic turn down in most countries that rely on agriculture which has in turn led to collapse of other industries. This is because the agricultural products become s expensive with high tax levy making cost of production unbearable for producers. For this reason countless people have lost their job. Equally ,increased birth rate can no doubt be said to be another cause of unemployment looming in the world as a whole. This becomes worse if the numbers of children born are more than the number of those retiring from job. Also, when there is baby- boom, like the one that occurred in 1994. This means that by the time the babies turn 21 years, they will be in need of employment almost at the same time yet the number of people retiring may be very minuet and even the government may not be in a position to create new ones. Therefore it means that there would be more workforce available than required hence unemployment as stated in the Keynes theory where the demand for jobs supersedes the supply of jobs. Similarly, unemployment has also been caused by the increasing technology that is improving swiftly. Even though technology has been received warmly by the mass, it has displayed some of its merits and demerits. Its, disadvantages being; taking the role of human being in most companies, therefore less physical workforce is required. A lot of the work is done by machines. The machines having taken the place of man, very few personnel are required and as a result, unemployment. Last but not least, it is clear that bad politics has also greatly contributed to unemployment. Unhealthy politics leads to underdevelopment of a countys economy. This is because very few important issues will be implemented, and because bad politics normally leads to constant wars, mass destruction of properties is prevalent. As a result of constant wars, a lot of people lose properties, jobs, and even lives. Apart from bad politics causing war, it also leads to poor system of governance whereby, factors like education is never taken seriously and when education system is not taken care of, then the economy of the country do not do well. For instance, when students are half-baked, then there would be no qualified workforce leading to collapse of companies hence unemployment to the entire community.
