Maintenance Optimizer

Prerequisites:

In order to setup the Maintenance Optimizer, SOLUTION MANAGER Support Package 09(ST 400 SP09) or greater must be applied. If the system is at Support Package level ST 400 SP09, always apply the following note SAP Note: 0997780 so that the Maintenance Optimizer checks which files are not to be executed.

Authorizations

In order to initially configure Maintenance Optimizer, you are required to perform several activities for that we recommend you have SAP_ALL authorization. Before users start working with the Maintenance Optimizer, the system administrator has to provide them authorization with the required role SAP_MAINT_OPT_ADMIN. Authorization object D_SOL_VSBL determines which solution a user may see. A Maintenance Optimizer user must be able to see at least one solution. Authorization object CRM_ORD_PR allows users to access specific CRM transaction types. Maintenance Optimizer users require access to SLMO transactions. The role SAP_MAINT_OPT_ADMIN allows users to call transaction AISUSER to assign S-Users to Solution Manager Users.

Configuration 1. 1. Create the configuration user in transaction SU01 and assign the profile SAP_ALL. 2. 2. Get into SPRO and Activate BC Sets for Configuration and all basic HTTP services. This is the following path: SPRO-> SAP Solution Manager IMG-> SAP Solution Manager-> Basic Settings-> Basic BC Sets for Configuration-> Activate Basic BC Sets. 1. 2.1: When you click on the Activate Basic BC Sets the following screens appears. In this screen select Activate BC Set and click on Choose. 1. 2.2: When you click on Choose the following screen appears. 1. 2.3: You have to choose the BC sets upon your requirement. 1. 3. Create RFC Connection to SAP

Follow this path: SPRO-> SAP Solution Manager IMG-> SAP Solution Manager-> Basic Settings-> Connection to SAP-> Maintain RFC User for Communication with SAP Service and Support Systems.

When you click on Maintain RFC User for Communication with SAP Service and Support Systems the following screen appears. Select the Check RFC Connections and click on Choose. 1. 3.1: The following screen appears. 1. 3.2: In ABAP Connections check and make sure that you are connected to SAP. 1. 4. Maintain SAP Customer Numbers.

Follow this path: SPRO-> SAP Solution Manager IMG-> SAP Solution Manager-> Basic Settings-> Connection to SAP->Maintain SAP Customer Number Select on Generate SAP Customer numbers and click on Choose. 1. 4.1: When you click on Choose the following screen appears and then click on New Entries to add new customers. 1. 5. Assign S-User

Follow this path: SPRO-> SAP Solution Manager IMG-> SAP Solution Manager-> Basic Settings-> Connection to SAP->Assign S-User for SAP Support Functionality. 1. 5.1: Make sure that you are maintaining the S-User correctly. Result: By following the above steps thoroughly you can configure Maintenance Optimizer.
